@black_intellect I think the article is both interesting (covering the stark lack of public space and engagement in Bakersfield and what seems to be lukewarm interest in Mr. McCarthy's leaving Congress and in their citation of "Saturday Night in Toledo Ohio" (though they credit John Denver with writing it and it was actually written by Randy Sparks; Denver recorded the best known version of it, though).

So, the #USHouse finally has a new speaker. It was a marathon and quite the departure from the last 4 years of calm and organization.
I think this is only the calm before the storm on Monday when they attempt to vote on the rules package. If the rules are approved (not guaranteed at all), then I also wouldn't be surprised to see the first attempt to make #kevinmcarthy vacate the chair (our version of a vote of no confidence).
