Ok, there is a little bit of jealousy in that joke, because I want to like Kenshi and similar games, but they scare me.
And, just in case, there is nothing wrong with The Sims. I’m honestly tempted to revisit the first one since they released that updated version… but time.

#Kenshi on Linux still has that bug where the game runs perfectly fine when you play it, but freeze crashes when you try to quit, and then you have to struggle to get to the crash report popup while the game is still on full screen.
Is there something you can do with wine to make it just auto-shutdown completely without the error reports and such?

What is it that makes #Morrowind and #Kenshi such compelling games that people stick with for years and years?
The graphics are crude, and the gameplay is jank.
Is it the combination of a society that is quirky with a world that raises more questions than giving answers?

@hazelnot This is such a fail in game design. Boss fights are, in my opinion, generally a fail. They're certainly always a fail if there aren't creative ways for the player to deal with them or bypass them.
The nature of a narrative in which one is immersed is that once the player character dies, that's the end of the story. Even #Kenshi, which is generally a very hard and unforgiving game, handles this better, in as much as you can (sometimes) lose a boss fight injured, crawl away, and heal.
