The UPS man arrived late today, with some decor for the last remaining blank space on my studio’s front wall.
a. Lola was immediately quite fond of the Ring of Destiny.
The ring came from Poland, and passed through Koeln – or Cologne – Germany (yes, where Keith Jarrett recorded my favorite album, The Köln Concert) on its way to the States. I think that’s very cool.
b. Unfortunately, the folks at another little Etsy store screwed up the patina on the right wing … I already wrote saying I want to return it for retouching, or get a replacement. No word until Monday, probably.

Just got an unexpected glut of work, so time to spin more records. Thankfully I don’t have any meetings today (yet) to distract me from actually getting things done.
Continuing to clear out the “new - to listen then file” pile that built up over the holidays. (It’s really 3 piles, Blue Note, Verve/Impulse, and “Other”…this is from the Verve/Impulse pile.) Going to have to let the Discogs account cool off for a month or two.
I’m 2 mins in and this one is very interesting so far…much more frenetic than most of my #Jazz listening lately, but I don’t mind a challenge.

Hudba na sobotní večer.
O té nahrávce bylo mnoho řečeno, byly o ní napsány diplomové práce a já mám hudební život rozdělený na čas "před Kolínem a po Kolínu". Přesně si pamatuji kde jsem to slyšel poprvé a bylo to něco mezi zásahem blesku a láskou na první pohled. ❤️ -
