Il est exceptionnel et la vue offerte complète l'autre randonnée depuis le système de Krysuvik qui montrait des choses que l'on ne voit pas ici.
J'ai donc grimpé la quasi totalité des gros sommets (supérieurs à 200 m) de la péninsule (il me manque le Þorbjörn mais l'actu volcanique m'en empêche).
Prochaine étape : le massif du Botnssúlur (altitude moyenne : 1000 m) !

Temps minimum demandé pour faire cette randonnée : 4h A/R
Temps réalisé : 3h30
1) Traversée d'un champ de lave avec de petites cavités et de la mousse partout. Portion pas difficile, attention à bien regarder où l'on met les pieds.
2) 1ère montée : sentier visible avec de bons lacets. Il faut de bonnes chaussures et des habits chauds car le vent souffle.
3) Les 150 derniers mètres sont très compliqués. J'estime que c'est quasi-infaisable sans expérience et bâtons nordique. La descente a été hardcore.

Anyone who has been occasionally monitoring the webcams for activity at #Fagradalsfjall & #Keilir #volcano🌋 has probably noticed a hint of the high latitude of #Iceland, almost at the Arctic Circle. At 2AM local time the webcam showed the darkest of night was civil twilight. 👀

Whoa, nelly! (Those are (very recent) earthquakes.)
A volcanic #eruption is imminent at #Keilir or #Fagradalsfjall on the #ReykjanesPeninsula, threatening the road between #Reykjavik and #KEF / #KeflavikAirport. Reykjavik’s been feeling literally thousands of quakes pretty much nonstop for days, according to an Icelandic YouTuber.
I wonder how Icelanders are doing? Calm? Nervous? Annoyed?
