Ich würde es tatsächlich sehr begrüßen, wenn für jedes #kfz eine Stellplatz #miete anhand des #mietspiegel von jeder Kommune erhoben werden würde/könnte/dürfte. Pro belegtem (Park-)Platz (bzw. auch im fliessenden Verkehr muss ja Platz frei sein!) je angefangenem Meter (4-5m Länge und 2-3m Breite = 8-15m^2) mal Mietspiegel (z.B. 10€) = zu entrichtender monatlicher Betrag.
So würden Kfz vielleicht wieder kleiner werden (ich denke da mal an die #keicars in Japan: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kei-Car ) und jede Kommune oder Landkreis müsste einen Mietspiegel haben! 🤗
Dass das nicht einfach so umsetzbar ist, ist mir klar. Aber man wird doch mal träumen oder einen Bürgerwunsch äußern dürfen… 😉

In Japan waren im Vorjahr über 40% der Neuwagen #Keicars, die maximal 1,5 Meter breit sind. In Österreich hingegen werden so wie in der gesamten EU die Neuwagen immer breiter. #verkehrt PS: Bei 9 von 10 Fahrten sitzt 1 Person im Auto.

I've often wondered if a Canadian EV "Kei Car" type program would help the country achieve zero emission goals, provide affordable transportation, and reduce grid lock in our cities.
In 1949, Japan created a special category of keijidosha (light vehicles) created for affordability and maneuverability in dense cities. The Kei car quickly became popular despite strict limits on dimensions (length, width, height) and engine displacement (under 660cc). They were given unique license plates for enforcement purposes and had tax benefits for owners.
What if an "Ion" vehicle category was created in Canada:
- must be manufactured in Canada
- minimum 100Km range, suitable for any urban commute
- limited to 50Km/hr
- restricted to street use, not to be used on highways
- size restrictions, perhaps Smart Car sized for personal vehicles, larger for commercial vehicle category

How many city-dwelling Canadians would buy a cheap EV to run errands and give the finger to big oil?

Please make this happen in the US. I have a hard time to drive a large car. A small car makes it easier for parallel parking.

I see people talking about Kei cars, and here are a few observations.

Kei cars are NOT a solution for the commute problem. You know what is a solution for commuting problem? A decent network of public transport venues and assets.

Take it from a guy who enjoys messing around with cars. Kei cars are an enthusiast thing, unless you have a small farm and don't care about creature comforts on a small utility truck.

Period.

Wer in Japan ein Auto anmelden will, muss dafür auch einen eigenen Parkplatz vorweisen können. Damit die teils winzigen Flächen vor dem Eigenheim ausreichen, werden #KeiCars angeboten - kastige Kleinstwagen, die ihre Grundfläche ideal ausnutzen. Dazu sind diese auf kürzere Strecken ausgelegt, wenig Motorisierung und als Elektro auch eher wenig Akku.

Aber dafür sind sie auch im Straßenverkehr keine so überbreiten und gefährlichen Monster.
Hach, wie gerne hätte ich sowas auch in Deutschland... 😔

Too bad Honda gave the axe to its S660 Kei car. It was really cute and so inexpensive.
