Earlier today, I saw a cat with a collar crouching on our lawn. Someone’s pet. As I stepped out, the cat fled dangling what it looked like a limp young rat from the mouth.
Fortunately for the cat, we don’t use rat poison. Shudder to think other neighbors still do.
Poor rat. But at least it wasn’t an agonizing death by poison. R.I.P. little one.

The trap is set, I hope Tux takes the bait but I fully expect to have to release his mama from the trap first. She's already doing a preliminary inspection 😁

If I had cats, I’d definitely keep them indoors, and have a supervised outdoor time, with a leash. Also spay/neuter to reduce their urge to hunt birds.
