@croyle One thing to keep in mind is that, depending on your setup, you might be able to receive some very distant & unexpected AM programs. I've enjoyed participating in some of the DX challenges put out by #DXcentral such as #DXCentralMWfrequencyChallenge & the #DXCentralSummerOfDX. It's fun to try to find new stations; and in the process, I discovered quite a few worthwhile regional & syndicated programs that I never would've heard otherwise. So part of the rest of the story from this morning is that I apparently had hit the “reset” button on the radio by mistake at some point the last time I used it.
I haven’t even used the radio in wide band mode since I got it, so I hadn’t noticed it was in WB yet here (but of course it is, and that’s why I was receiving that freq 10kHz up).

1029UTC: WGN Chicago, IL - 226mi.
1058UTC: WQNO New Orleans, LA - 690mi.
1224UTC: WZAP Bristol, VA - 355mi.All heard in Olney, IL using a Tecsun S-2000 with the radio’s “internal” rotatable AM antenna. #AMDX #DX #KE0FFTam
