Was wohl passieren würde, stiege ich in besagten Zug ein – wäre ich dann für immer unterwegs? 🙀

It might be just me, but at some point in the last 1-2 years, all the #KDE apps I use on my #Librem5 got noticeably slower. This includes #PureMaps and #KDEItinerary. It feels like some sort of graphics acceleration shenanigans: Map scrolling in PureMaps used to be smooth, and now is almost unusably laggy. Even just scrolling up and down an itinerary or pushing a button is slower than a comparable GTK app (Tuba, Gnome Maps, etc...).

Oh great and powerful hive mind: How might I seek out incantations that could fix this?

#KDEItinerary seems to have added a neat transit connections feature that routes you from the end of one entry (e.g. your arrival) to the next (e.g. your hotel). I love how they made it opt-in, but not annoyingly so. There's just a "Connections" button sitting in between the two entries.

I know, I do a lot of... let's say, fanboy toots recently, but please bear with me 🥺

#KDEItinerary is not just cool and easy-to-use as every @kde application, but it has features... let's put it this way: It basically wipes the floor with #DBNavigator.

Erfolgreich mit #Fahrrad in einen Geister-#ICE eingestiegen, für den ich eine #Fahrradkarte besitze, den #bahn.de aber seit Wochen nicht mehr anzeigt, weil er angeblich ausgebucht sei (Er wird auch nicht auf der Seite angezeigt, die angeblich alle ausgefallenen Züge mit anzeigt. Fiel ja nicht aus.)

Unproblematisch einen freien Sitzplatz gefunden. Konnte den aber weder vorab reservieren, noch eine Fahrkarte dafür kaufen (habe jetzt ein Flexticket für einen anderen Zug).

#KDEItinerary kennt den Zug übrigens auch nicht, der fehlt also offenbar in den Daten der Bahn-API. Gefunden habe ich den Zug übrigens auf dem #Hafas der niederländischen Bahn, https://hafas.bene-system.com/ , das ganz korrekt auch nur eine mittlere Zugauslastung prognostizierte. @bahnkundenv #BahnBubble #bahnfahren #deutschebahnfernverkehr

Trying #KDEItinerary for my next trip, and I am AMAZED at how actually GOOD this little thing is at laying out a whole trip.

I gotta be honest, I thought it was going to be a thing for planning-obsessed people (which it is) but it is SO USER-FRIENDLY and EASY to setup.

You all should give it a try! It's also available for #Android!

Time off from $dayjob was quite fruitful. I didn't expect I'd have to untangle so much mess I'd made myself, but geocoding is implemented. It will now be possible to find journeys between not only stops, but also addresses and POIs. There are some rough edges, but I hope to release a testable version soon

Next week, I'll be trying out German trains and KDE Itinerary. I'll get to Berlin and the way back with Flix.

I didn't manage to add the Flix part of the trip to Itinerary; searching even with busses enabled doesn't return it and I thought it used Transitous. It also doesn't seem possible to add a trip by hand. Not to mention that tickets from Flix are not recognised.

Tips and advice welcome.

Ähm... #Öffi, #Transportr, #KDEItinerary etc. können nicht mehr auf die #API der #DB zugreifen?

WTF? Öffi ist die einzige vernünftige App, um #Bahn verbindungen zu finden. Nur die DB liefert Navigation in ganz #DE.

Die API und website von reiseauskunft.bahn.de scheint deaktiviert zu sein.

Ich habe keine offizielle Ankündigung gefunden, scheinbar soll die Seite komplett abgeschaltet worden sein?

Ich habe den DB Navigator durch KDE Itinerary ersetzt und bin zufrieden. Die App kann Reisepläne, Fahrkarten, mein Deutschland-Ticket und meine digitale Bahncard speichern. Und natürlich ist sie kostenlos und trackerfrei.

Um sie mit #FDroid zu installieren, muss zuvor das KDE-Repository hinzugefügt werden:

For buying/using a #DeutscheBahn #railway #discount card (#Bankcard) a customer account on #bahn.de is mandatory. What you however DON'T need (although the company is trying hard to trick you into it) is the person data leaking #DBNavigator app: Just like any digital #DB ticket you can import the Bahncard's QR code into #KDEItinerary (https://apps.kde.org/en-gb/itinerary/) or present it as a PDF or on paper. This QR code is the important part of the "Ersatzdokument" (replacement) PDF in the bahn.de account.

Für die #zwangsdigital|e #Bahncard braucht es zwar einen personenbezogenen User bei #Bahn.de, aber anders, als die #DeutscheBahn (inklusive ihr unzureichend geschultes Schalterpersonal) behauptet, kein #Datenleck namens #DBNavigator -App : Das Bahncard-Ersatzdokument, das man im Bahn.de-Konto ausdrucken oder als PDF speichern kann, enthält einen QR-Code, der selbstverständlich auch #analog gültig ist. Er lässt sich aber auch in #KDEItinerary (https://apps.kde.org/en-gb/itinerary/) importieren und darin digital vorweisen.
