  1. KC & The Sunshine Band recently released "I Feel You," and I'm highlighting the Stonebridge Remix for this New Music Discovery.

I love how this mix incorporates an acoustic guitar riff, because it adds a great texture. And KC's deeper vocal range works well with the sound of this remix.

  4. NYNE recently released "Love Goes Up and Down," a collaboration with KC and the Sunshine Band.

The disco influence is strong on this one, but you can hear that this is a 2020's track and not something from the 70's. NYNE's vocal delivery is a great fit for the playful vibe of the arrangement.

The prompt is “That striped sunshine sound.”
KC & The Sunshine Band, “What Makes You Happy” from KC & The Sunshine Band (1975)

I don’t really know what “that striped sunshine sound” means but I figure if anyone does, it would be KC & The Sunshine Band - I mean just look at their big rainbow-hued logo emblazoned across that album cover.

Back in the day I wouldn’t have been caught dead with this album that had become synonymous with cheesy, flashy #disco, but later I discovered that there’s a #funk band lurking in here, and a couple of tracks that absolutely SLAP. Here’s one of them.

  6. "Rock Your Baby" is the debut single by American singer #GeorgeMcCrae. Written and produced by #HarryWayneCasey and #RichardFinch of #KCAndTheSunshineBand, "Rock Your Baby" became an early landmark recording of #disco. It was the only international hit for McCrae. The song spent two weeks at number one on the US #Billboard #Hot100 in July 1974, and three weeks at number one on the #UKSinglesChart that same month. The song also topped the Billboard #RAndBChart.
