You've made it to Friday. Good job! This sniffy boi has been sniffing for friendly vibes, and here you all are. :neofox_floof__w:
#PabloEscobark says you are a good one and probably wants to smell your breath. He likes to keep files on everyone's life history that way.

Latest batch of rope acquired! I felt that I needed more green rope. It's one of my favorite colors. And these are linen! :neofox_sign_aaa:

CW: suggestive banana
An undisclosed amount of time ago, someone commented on how eating bananas always conjured phallic imagery for them. I took pity on this poor unfortunate soul, and decided to demonstrate an alternate technique they might find more appealing.
This is an example setup for how to peel a banana to eat it in the manner used for my demo. I'm sure y'all can figure out the rest.

Sometimes you just capture a special moment. For some, it's perfect, for others, it's maybe a moment too soon.

One fun recurring thing at #Blissfest is the "Mug Library." These folks are not officially affiliated with the festival or anything. They setup a wall of mugs hanging from nets. You can grab one, fill up with free coffee that runs on donations, and simply return the mug (into a tote, not the net) when you're done.
At night time, the netting gets lit up all pretty, and you know what happens then. That's right, lights in the woods at night attract moths! Here's a picture of @SillyLily and @xYourEmoGFx coming across a moth that has been caught in the net of lights.
In case you are wondering, there were indeed many instances of folks going "Follow the unicorn!" or "Everyone! Follow that rainbow penis! It's the only way we'll make it back to camp!" and variants thereof.
I can neither confirm nor deny whether they made it to the destination they wanted or through a portal to the feywilds.
-
While I definitely used different ties for load bearing wraps, I did sprinkle various decorative knots around camp. Especially with glow-in-the-dark paracord, as this has been pretty good at helping folks avoid running face first into trees when it's dark.
Definitely not my tidiest work, but for a hasty one I think it was acceptable. I did do a properly tidy hashira anchor at some point but I think I forgot to actually take a picture of it :neofox_facepalm:
And my various ties around camp _did_ get noticed. Yes, I have anecdotes in the queue somewhere.

Pretty close to the "entrance" to our camp at #Blissfest2026, there was a tree stump that we decorated as a temporary surface. And took care to protect the moss from stray footsteps. The moss was not alone though.
This fungus is colloquially known as "Dead Man's Fingers" and the scientific name is _Xylaria polymorpha_. It's a saprotrophic fungus that often grows on dead or dying wood. They are not edible, so I recommend you do _not_ put these digits in your mouth if you feel the urge.
Some species are associated with black root rot in certain trees (like apple, pear, elm, etc), but mostly they are essential decomposers.

There are always so many beautiful elements of nature one gets to experience when camping in northern Michigan. Here is a Small-Eyed Sphinx chilling out at #Blissfest2026
It was pretty warm and humid, so this one got the perfect opportunity to cool off with @AstralFox

At #Blissfest this year, both my volunteer shifts went to the Kids area. We set up various arts and crafts for them to do. It lets them exercise some creativity, and sometimes we can sneak in useful skill learning. It's very freeform though.
One of the activities ended up being a variant of "worry dolls" (Muñecas quitapenas). This is a doll that one can whisper their worries to and the doll will let them be free of the worries overnight.
Practically, it is basically a confidant, and some of these kiddos had strong opinions on what makes such an entity trustworthy. Kids at this festival are feral to an extent (absolutely delightful).
Here's one of many examples of their interesting creations.

After getting home from #Blissfest this year, my hair was ridiculous. Here's the full #FitCheck for the "teardown camp and haul things back home" day. It involves extra manual labor in the sweltering humid heat and also wading through grass sometimes (yes, I tuck my pants into my socks for that).
I wore something similar on the "loading into camp" day, and while I was there, I only wore pants twice. It was when volunteering to do arts and crafts in the kids area. There is often paint and glue, and stuff like that involved. I'll post some of the fits at some point once I figure out if I actually took pictures of them, and whether I like them or not.

#Blissfest was a fun experience this weekend. I still have pics I haven't posted from #Blissfest2025 but I'm going to try and at least get some posted soon for #Blissfest2026
It was humid as heck. And it was quite warm; both in terms of how welcoming and accepting the people are, and also the air temperature. There were multiple times where I was just glistening with sweat and doing something with ropecord, trees, or dancing. I'll spare you any pictures of that state, and instead offer this picture of my hair after I got home (only a day since the last wash at the campground).
I'm looking forward to journaling the various experiences which will likely end up making it into some posts. I have some simple stories such as one to convey the joy of stargazing on a clear night with a new moon, and ensnaring passers-by into catching some surprise meteors. And more involved ones such as the complexity of dealing with an individual that got argumentative after asking whether it was okay to use "dude" in a camp full of trans folks.

Alright y'all. I appreciate you being cool about me taking weird sized breaks from posting. Here's a recipe I made yesterday and basically devoured because it was so good.
# Butter Rice Cakes
Makes 12 using a standard muffin tray
## Ingredients- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter (140g)
- ½ cup granulated sugar (105g). I personally prefer closer to ⅓ cup (~65-70g)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 large egg (preferably at room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk (~224 g)
- 2 ¼ cups mochiko (sweet rice flour) or glutinous rice flour (270g)Notes:
- The butter will be going in two places. 84g (6 Tbsp) will be going into a mixing bowl for making the batter, the rest will be used to coat the muffin tray. If you have a scale it's no problem splitting it after melting, but I know some of y'all might prefer to do it differently.
- If you plan on using a mixer like a kitchen aid, the large bowl in step 2 is the bowl that will be used for mixing.
- Beating is not the same as whisking.
- Using an uncoated standard muffin tin will help ensure the most even browning (in theory)## Preparation
### Step 1
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Rack will go in the middle (if applicable)
### Step 2- Heat the **butter** in a small saucepan over medium until just melted, stirring occasionally. 3 to 4 minutes or mabe longer depending on your stovetop.
- Pour 6 tablespoons (84 grams) of the **melted butter** into a large bowl and add the **sugar, vanilla, honey and salt.**
- Whisk until well blended, then set aside to cool. If using a kitchen aid, feel free to let cool while whisking. It just needs to be cool enough to not cook the egg.### Step 3
- Meanwhile, brush the remaining 4 tablespoons (56 grams) **melted butter** into the cups of a standard muffin tin to generously and evenly coat.
Yes, some will pool at the bottom. It should be even across the different muffins, it's not expected to be even distribution in a single tin, but do make sure to brush the sides well.
### Step 4- _Whisk_ the **egg** into the **sugar mixture** until just blended, then whisk in the **milk**.
- While whisking, gradually add the **rice flour** and whisk until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly among the buttered muffin cups (about ¼ cup/60 grams per cup if you used the full amount of sugar) and smooth the tops, if necessary.
- Set the muffin tin on a sheet pan. This is to catch the overflow. It will likely happen.
### Step 5- Bake on the middle rack for 7-10 minutes, then lower the temperature to 375 degrees and bake until **dark golden brown**, 28 to 40 minutes more.
Ovens can vary dramatically sometimes, so do check on it earlier in the second phase to avoid overbaking. We are basically frying the batter to get the outside nice and crisp.
### Step 6- Let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then lift each cake out with a small offset spatula or very thin paring knife and transfer to a rack to cool slightly.
- Serve warm. Because their crust softens overnight, these cakes are best eaten the day they are made.Credit for base recipe goes to Kayla Hoang and Genevieve Ko.

This lil fella found its way into my collection. Folks of Fedi, I would love your suggestions for a name. What should I call this new friend?

> #Agender is a gender identity where an individual has no gender and does not necessarily follow gender roles. It can also be known as genderless, gender-free, non-gendered, or ungendered.
Featuring @xYourEmoGFx as A Fox With No Gender, I scribbled out a few lines to the tune of the chorus from "A Horse With No Name"
Casting wax agender onto a fox with no name
Feeling the warm soft echoing pain
In this slowly cooling void, it might earn a new name

What do you feel is going to happen next here?
I would love to get your notes and comments! For those that are unfamiliar with my content, I am fond of little snares (#FaeSnare), and also #GoodBadScience
If you manage to guess correctly, I will be headpats and affirmations (may need to be digital if you are too far for me to reach physically). Alternate awards can be accommodated within reason.
If you guess incorrectly, I'll still probably give you affirmations for trying.
If you suggest something that I find extra interesting/amusing/entertaining, I might decide to do a shoot with that idea and post it instead of (or in addition to) what I currently have planned.

Now that the moon is actually waxing, it is aligned with the state of unbounded #WaxingPride
This time, it's the #BiPride flag! While I am confident that most of y'all already know what this represents because you probably follow @alice I will still add a blurb for those less familiar with the concept.
> Bisexuality is defined as having romantic attraction, sexual attraction, or sexual behavior towards more than one gender or attraction that is not limited by sex or gender.
>
> Bisexual (or bi) was reclaimed as a sexual orientation label in the 1960s and has been defined in a variety of ways by the bisexual community, including as attraction regardless of gender or sex, attraction existing beyond the gender and sexual orientation binary, attraction to more than one gender, attraction to people of similar and different genders, and attraction with gender being an irrelevant factor. The entity featured as a mystery canvas has a propensity to bite back if handled incorrectly. :neofox_nom_verified: This entity will get a proper introduction post in the near future :ablobcatangel:
The colors are a bit out of order compared to the "official" version of the flag, and there is an extra shade of purple. I also have a feeling that bi folks are probably okay with the stripes going two or more ways.

I don't have as many fun plants around as some of y'all do, but I still am easily smitten by simple things. For example, there are plenty of wild alliums around, and I quite enjoy seeing the silver lil bubbles they form, and appreciate how they look so alien and metallic. Then when they finally burst, it's like there was this tiny cute eldritch deity just waiting to hatch. 🥹

I resolved to work through some of my backlog of queued photos. Here's one of the rocks from my [2025 Lake Superior rocky finds] (https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/115188553275407628)
It's satisfyingly egg-shaped and has a good "hand-feel." I _know_ some of you know exactly what I mean.

The Moon might be waning, but #Pride is waxing. Unlike the moon, I don't believe there is a "pride peak" so to speak. So we are probably in a state of unbounded #WaxingPride
This is good because there's no way I'm getting through all the pride flags in one month! :neofox_laugh_sweat:
I will try to juxtapose some meaning on the backs of those supporting the rainbow, and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments :blobcatflower:

#CW for visible nipples
I still haven't decided on my draft for part 4 of the clay soil moon magic with @lillieeatssouls but since y'all are so patient with me, I decided you can have some bonus content.

CW: nipples visibly pinched with pointy things, rope (part 3 of clay moon magic)
(Continued from Part 2](https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/116667070115692484)
To ensure usability over time, consider adding some organic matter while tilling the surface of your clay-like soil. Introduction of multiple size particles will help with more diverse pore diameter, and improve the flow of fluids and nutrients.
In this example with @lillieeatssouls (Part 3 of 4) we are using jute rope as some additional organic material for providing some much needed nourishment to the initial batch of sprouts.
When transplanting sprouts from your nursery, I recommend staying near the areas where you have already added the extra material. This is to ensure access to nutrients, and gives the soil purpose via incorporating it structurally.

CW: Technically censored nipples, moon magic, rope
It's well known how one is meant to use the darkness of a new moon to seed their intentions. When appropriately nourished, and maintained, the results may be harvested during subsequent full moons. It is still important to find a patch of soil in the aether that will be a good fit for your seeds.
You might already be familiar with some potential areas (https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/114587038876051028) and subsequent blooms in #ContemplatingPupation but I would recommend being prepared for more scenarios as well. Here's an example of something to keep in mind if you find a great location, but certain soil qualities appear to be... lacking.
If you squeeze some soil in your hand and it forms a ribbon without breaking, you are likely dealing with a clay that is too wet. Yes, it's very moldable, easy to shape, etc. This is a good quality sometimes, like when you want a pliable plaything that can withstand all sorts of twisted pressure.
However, clay tends to have some issues with water flow. It is harder for water and nutrients to move through clay with its tiny pores. To make this impressionable soil actually useful for growth purposes, we'll need to make it crumble.
First, we need to ensure that it's not too wet. If it forms that elastic ribbon, then it's too wet, too pliable, and will just leave you with a sopping mess. If it falls apart under pressure, then it is something we can enrich, and reconstruct.
There are several ways to accomplish this goal, and it's best to experiment to find out which one works best for the soil you have. Sometimes simply exposing it to heat and maybe roughing up the surface is enough. Other times you might need to add some suction.
Here is an example featuring @lillieeatssouls (Part 1 of 4)

Recent #FitCheck where once again I accidentally ended up wearing (almost) all black.
No dangly earrings, no complementary bracelets, etc. I didn't even wear any makeup that week (was too busy). Despite this, I think it works fine. I just needed to look at them on a better self-esteem day.Folks who saw this on Signal offered (solicited) feedback on preferences between the two. It ended up being a tie, so y'all get to have both.
-
There's a full moon tonight. You know what that means. It's a night to harvest intentions that have ripened over this lunar cycle. At a time where pride month is in the collective mindscape, I wonder what surprises await us...
-
Haven't done a #FitCheck in a bit. I think I have a need to go thrifting and expand my wardrobe some more. Y'all know I have more outfits in my current set already, but I think having more options will let me show off more diverse examples for #NonBinaryFashion
-
Springtime in May means a lot of things are in bloom. This also holds true for toebeans of various kinds. Some of the eager ones can be harvested for a first flush.
If your toes have been getting fatigued waiting for me to have enough spoons for my notorious backlog, here's sn opportunity to have a reprieve. Give your toes little recharge hammocks to make it easier.
Here is drone 9382 demonstrating a sensory recharge for toes in a bind.

We're moving past the wide awakening threshold that comes after the quickening. So many things are in bloom, and it makes me happy.
Here is one of a lot of #LilyOfTheValley that exists in my yard. This particular one is from a collective that grows alongside ferns and periwinkle. I just think they are so pretty! :blobcatpuffyblush:

#CW for technically partial nudity and my spider tattoo is visible (it's just a lil one)
A few moons ago, I had made a post with these skull prints: https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/115659654052220953
Here's a followup I said I would post when I got some pictures of them aglow. These are from a few days ago, it was sunny out so when I got up and my hallway was flooded in sunlight, they charged up fast.
While I still want to get shots in a darker setting, these will probably help tide y'all over until then. My alt text isn't as poetic in this post as I usually strive for, but I know you'll like me even if I'm not at my best. :Blobhaj_Hug_Blahaj:

CW: Jumping spider updates
I can't talk about a #Spood without also providing updates on the jumpers.
Claudia, may she rest in peace, is preserved in IPA in a small jar nowadays. Some of her clutches have definitely survived. Not counting the escape artists, or the wild clutches, we have Sam and Ivy. They're too small for "proper" portraits, but I'm going to try and come back to them in a future post. Sam is a lil chubby. Ivy is a lil wobbly.
The one currently pictured is Missy, short for "Lil Miss can't pick a fucking name" (reference to Hazbin Hotel). She hitchhiked on my person one day and clearly felt I was taking her to safety. Which wasn't exactly wrong. She's spoiled and gets to eat many flightless fruit flies, and mealworms and also clutches of unfertilized eggs. She never nated, so she'll lay eggsacs that don't hatch, and then brood for a few weeks before coming out of her ever growing hammock network. She's _fat_ nowadays. And she's very entertaining when hunting flies and worms.
