Our weekend retreat to #Seefeld in #Tirol for your #MountainMonday! Located nearly 1200 meters above the sea level, the Austrian town tends to be several degrees cooler than Munich - what else could we ask for?
Well, we could ask for a fantastic view of the #Karwendel mountains from a hike above the clouds!
We started from the gondola station on Seefelder Joch and ascended Seefelder Spitze (2221m)...

I couldn't decide what to do today and where to go. I got up too late for a longer hike due to the heat. In the end I just got on my bike and followed the road and pushed myself for some training effect.
It was a really enjoyable ride except for the last 10km where the heat got really annoying.
Is this a #silentsunday contribution? I think so... No talking, less thinking, just nature, the bike, the road, the #mountains and myself. And now.. Relaxing.

#mountainMonday ! Unfortunately not a recent photo but one that's quite a while ago. Before my wife had 2 knee issues. But maybe we can go there again soon.

"Wer schon mal an der #Falkenhütte war, der blickt Richtung Westen auf die wunderbar gelegene Anger Hochalm. Wie auf den meisten Almen, fehlt es auch hier an Arbeitskraft um die Almflächen zu pflegen und vor Verbuschung zu schützen. Mit Unterstützung der Freiwilligen des #DAV – Sektion Oberland, konnte auch dieses Jahr die Aktion erfolgreich durchgeführt werden."

Um die schönen Lärchweiden zu erhalten, ist es jedes Jahr viel Handarbeit und Pflege notwendig -heruntergefallene Äste müssen aufgeräumt werden, Steine werden auf Häufen geworfen und einzelne Fichten werden entfernt um die Weide offen zu halten.

What a day for #cycling ! What should I say. It was just superb. The #isar area between #vorderriß and #krün is a gem for cyclists (ok, not just for cyclists 😉).
On the way back we took the toll road and were pleasantly surprised that most cars were respectful when they passed us. - While the majority of Motorcyclists still has to learn that they should also leave some space when passing slower Road users.
But overall it was a very pleasant day!

Our #silentsunday was spent on a mountain trail half an hour from our home. About 400-500m elevation along such a trail. And we didn't meet anybody.
Maybe because the location is too unspectacular: no great summit views, no summit at all, nothing to buy drinks or food - just a trail through patches of sun and shade with quite a few flowers along the trail.
Later, we cycled to a restaurant to meet friends...

Should I buy a device just for fun and testing? 🤔There seem to be no repeaters between #badtölz and #inntal / #innsbruck. I doubt it will this is helpful in the #karwendel

Das Initiative „Lebensbäume“ soll über private Sponsoren – Unternehmen und Einzelpersonen – finanziert werden. Die Sponsoren erhalten eine Urkunde und je nach Sponsoringhöhe einen Schlüsselanhänger oder einen Holzspecht. Neben den konkreten Erhalt der Totholzbäume findet auch begleitende Bewusstseinsbildung für, Grundbesitzer*innen und für Mitarbeiter*innen des Sponsors statt.

Heute gilt die Wiederansiedlung der Bartgeier in den Alpen als eine der erfolgreichsten Rückkehrgeschichten einer Tierart weltweit. Innerhalb von nur rund 40 Jahren konnten sich die Bartgeier wieder fest in den Alpen etablieren. Heute gibt es etwa 450 Bartgeier in den Alpen, davon rund 100 Brutpaare.
