De mai à juillet 2019 se tient le procès France Télécom- Orange. Sept dirigeants sont accusés d'avoir organisé la maltraitance de leurs salariés, parfois jusqu’à la mort.
On les interroge longuement, leur fait expliquer beaucoup. Rien à faire : ils ne voient pas le problème. Ils ont même l’impression d’avoir bien réussi l’opération. L’ancien P-DG Didier Lombard a un seul regret : « Finalement, cette histoire de suicides, c'est terrible, ils ont gâché la fête ». Le problème de ce procès, c’est que les juges parlent la langue des accusés, et vice versa. Il n’y a pas d’extériorité possible. Et les plaignants, une fois de plus, sont laminés, malgré l’extraordinaire force de leur récit, de leur impossible récit.
Sandra Lucbert a assisté à ce procès historique. En écrivain, elle a écouté, observé. Convoquant le Kafka de La Colonie pénitentiaire ou le Melville de Bartleby, mais aussi Rabelais avec ses « mots de gueule » contre les « paroles gelées », dans toute leur puissance métaphorique, elle propose un texte fulgurant et rageur contre la langue et la logique monstrueuses du capitalisme. Elle met au jour, avec une admirable finesse, la perversité des méthodes et de la novlangue managériales qui, au nom du libéralisme triomphant, brisent nos vies, nos esprits et nos corps.
Elle nous met aussi face à ce constat : nous nous sommes habitués, ou peut-être lassés, et cela ne nous choque plus, ou plus assez. Nous nous sommes peut-être résignés. Mais le simple fait de faire réentendre les mots, les phrases, dans leur violence inouïe, a l’effet d’un réveil. Et ça fait mouche.==========
Sandra Lucbert
est née en 1981. Normalienne, agrégée de lettres, elle a écrit deux romans, Mobiles (Flammarion, 2013) et La Toile (Gallimard, 2017). Elle a publié dans la Revue du Crieur. En juillet 2019, la revue lundimatin a fait paraître le compte rendu d'audience qui est à l'origine de Personne ne sort les fusils.==========
De mai à juillet 2019, Sandra Lucbert assiste au procès des dirigeants de France Télécom, le « Nuremberg du management » comme l’appelle un internaute du Figaro. « Parfois, Didier Lombard s’endort pendant le récit d’une pendaison. Il digère. » « Cette histoire de suicides, c’est terrible, ils ont gâché la fête. », regrette-t-il. « On n'a pas si souvent l'occasion de voir à nu la guerre des classes. » Avec rage et détermination, elle va décortiquer la novlangue managériale à l’oeuvre et l’organisation du travail qu’elle dissimule et défend.
Pour avoir initié des plans visant à faire partir 20% des effectifs du groupe – « par la porte ou par la fenêtre » – disait Lombard, c’est-à-dire supprimer 22 000 postes « pour libérer 7 milliards de cash flow », et dont la violence s’est comptée en morts (immolation, pendaison, noyade, défenestration, suicide en réunion à l’arme blanche, suicide sur rails), les prévenus encourent des peines essentiellement symboliques, : au maximum 15 000 euros d’amendes (pour quelqu’un qui gagne au bas mot 540 000 euros par an) et une année de prison qu’ils ne feront pas. Pourtant, leur défense est redoutable, leur langage managérial glaçant. Sandra Lucbert nomme Lingua Capitalismi Neolibéralis (LCN) cette langue technique : « Le drame salarial vient du droit salarial, en supprimant le droit on supprimera le drame. » « Protection s’écrit désormais trop-de-protection. » Le Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) « invente des maladies à mesure que les nouvelles tortures de management apparaissent » : « Au lieu de la détresse d'un homme acculé par les maltraitances, on pourra lui trouver trois maladies, trois médicaments, trois sources de profit. » « Grâce au DSM, la souffrance n'existe plus. Les conditions de travail n'existent plus. » « Les comptables de France Télécom appelaient “CDI sans chaise“ les postes à éliminer du bilan. C'est consigné dans l'ordonnance de renvoi. La logique du flow commande de retirer les chaises. La LCN fabrique les mots pour homologuer l’idée. Privés de chaise, les gens tombent. Le DSM leur attribue la chute. » « La violence exercée contre les salariés est la seule licite ; ils sont invités à la parachever contre eux-mêmes, certainement pas à s’en défendre. […] C'est dans cette société qu'on vit. Ou plutôt : qu'on meurt. »
Sandra Lucbert emprunte les « paroles gelées » à Rabelais, La Colonie pénitentiaire à Kafka, Orange mécanique à Kubrick, Bartleby à Melville, pour illustrer sa démonstration. Avec la littérature, elle entend disséquer, désamorcer et retourner cette langue qui nous a envahis et anesthésiés. Cet exercice de salubrité public s’avère d’une terrible puissance subversive et instructive.
