This is why I turned off everything that used OpenAI for anything. Even thought it was a bit handy when #Karakeep got tags automatically for items I bookmarked, I did not want to contribute any money in the form of buying tokens nor any legitimacy in using the product. I want the whole fucking enterprise to go down as soon as possible so we can buy all their shit at the liquidation sales.

Inspiré par @jlecour et @bca j'essaye de refaire mon setup de veille professionnelle à base de flux RSS et un outil « read-it-later ». J'ai monté un PoC avec #FreshRSS, #CapyReader et #Karakeep, mais je suis déçu par les fonctions collaboratives de Karakeep qui permet de partager une liste en édition, mais ne permet pas aux invité.es d'éditer description, tags, annotations…
Faudrait que je teste #Linkwarden. Ou alors se partager un même compte ? (dans ce cas ça pourrait être avec #Readeck)

Pocket has been decommissioned. After years of saving articles I told myself I'd read later (spoiler: I didn't), I had to find a replacement.
My requirements were simple: self-hosted, decent mobile app, browser extension, and please, something that organizes stuff automatically, because I won't.

Getting it running with S3 and Docker was straightforward. The fun part came when I wanted to use Amazon Nova2 Lite for AI summarization. KaraKeep uses OpenAI-compatible APIs, and Bedrock has a compatibility layer called Project Mantle. Except Nova2 Lite wasn't available on it yet.

Did I give up? Of course not. The aws-samples GitHub repo had the answer: bedrock-access-gateway. A few config lines later, KaraKeep was happily talking to Nova2 Lite.
The bonus: any other tool that needs an OpenAI-compatible API can now use your private Bedrock endpoint too.
