I just got rid of the god awful Logi-options+ (and the 2GB LLM it comes with) and replaced it with Karabiner Elements on my Mac to harvest the power of the gesture / thumb button. The trick was to use the usb mouse device instead of the keyboard and then the button was button6 (forward and backward are button4 and button5)

Einmal mehr: Basel Tattoo

Tattoos – wer hier schon länger mitliest, weiss es – mag ich sehr gern. Nicht die gestochenen, selbstverständlich, sondern die mit Musik. Ob in Zürich, Edinburgh (das ultimative Higlight!) oder in Basel: Der Mix aus internationaler Militärmusik, Highland Dancers und Dudelsack-Formationen – Pipes and Drums – gefällt mir ausserordentlich.

Gerade deshalb – und auch, weil ich zwischendurch gerne etwas mit ihm unternehme (und ich den Eintritt von ihm zu Weihnachten erhalten hatte) – besuchte ich am Freitag die Premiere des Basel Tattoos 2025 in Basel zusammen mit meinem Sohn, dem diese Musik ebenfalls sehr zusagt.

Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht: Formationen aus aller Herren Ländern traten auf, spielten in Harmonie- und Brassband-Formation, überzeugten mit komplizierten Choreografien, Solo- und Chorgesang, mit leichtfüssigen Gruppentänzen (48 junge Tänzerinnen bewegten sich geschwinde zu Violinen- und Dudelsack-Klängen) und gefährlichen Drill-Darbietungen mit wirbelnden Karabinern mit aufgesetztem Bajonett.

Ein weiteres „Tüpfchen aufs I“ schliesslich war die gekonnte Darbietung der Tambouren von „Top Secret“, einer Basler Trommelformation, die diesen August auch wieder in Edinburgh zu Gast sein wird.

Ein wahrhaft gelungener Abend!

- Pour essayer de rationaliser un peu la situation, j'ai commencé à travailler sur « Tester #kmonad ou #karabiner ou #xremap pour régler les différences de shortcut entre macOS et Linux » (https://github.com/stephane-klein/dotfiles/issues/47)

Après avoir listé toutes ces difficultés que je rencontre, je pense que j'ai peu de chance d'arriver à migrer vers le Moonlander… en tous les cas, je ne vois pas de solution immédiate 🤔
