Most of you will never see one of these because there are very few around. That's you Australians. You people who plan to come here to visit. To see kangaroos, #wallabies and wallaroos, best do it soon before our #farmers #slaughter all of them.
This little 1kg girl has no name yet. She came in an hour ago. She is a sub species of #wallaroo called a Euro (Macropus Robustus Erubescens).
Her mother was #shot by a #farmer who no longer has the balls to smash the tiny babies against his ute. He brings them to me to make himself feel better. He had misidentified her mother as a grey #kangaroo as well, so not only doesn't he care, he can't see properly either.
She brings to 9 the number I'm raising in the house. #Formula 8 times a day. Grain and hay for bigger animals is becoming a struggle. Some are being released this week, but some help would be wonderful.
If someone finds it within their means to #donate $500 which has happened once before, they can name her.
Her name is Nightmare.

Good morning #Pachyderms of #fediverse.
This morning's picture for #KangaroosOfMastodon is the beautiful Bindi. She is a blue flyer doe at the time the photo was taken she was 7 months old.
Recently we are seeing more blue flyers than ever before. A blue flyer is a red kangaroo who is holding her juvenile colour which is often this beautiful silver blue colour, hence their name.
Bindi is a first Nations word meaning "girl".
We are currently running a #gofundme campaign to raise money to build a new pair of shelters and help with feed costs until travel into the outback starts again in April.

They are grey #kangaroos and face the possibility of being #slaughtered by and for #Australia's farmers to provide dog food and shoe leather for #nikerunning and #adidas .
Please don't buy shit made from K #leather. It is sourced from the most #inhumane wildlife slaughter on #planet #Earth

This morning I would like to introduce #Uluru who I now know is a little girl, since mum Ghirawen allowed me to pick her up and give her a bit of a #cuddle and check her stats.
She is just on 1kg, fully furred, and has 3 legs 2 arms and a delightful smiling face.
Her care and support from now on will cost around $18 AUD per week so long as she doesn't require drugs at any stage if she is injured.

CW: Wildlife care in Australia.
Every week within a 100km distance of where I sleep 500 joeys like Gunggari are pulled out of their mothers pouches and smashed to death on the back or wheel of a shooter's vehicle.
Their mother is often still #alive as she is #butchered. If the joey escapes, he or she will starved to death over a week to 10 days.
A #drone will find the #shooter's active area and I walk along #fences often with the shooting still happening, looking for the escapees.
When I find them I put them in a pouch and keep walking. A backpack will hold 4 stuffed on top of one another.
This is Australia's shame. Our government tells us without any evidence that there are 50 million kangaroos.
#Tourists can travel for 18,000km and not see any in the outback as #farmers struggle to slaughter all of them to prevent them competing with their bred for #slaughter stock.
#Nike spend hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting K leather, but don't tell you what it is or how it is sourced in what is accepted as the single most inhumane slaughter of any animal on the planet.
This slaughter is worse than the #Canadian #harp seal slaughter for its inhumane methods. Remember the note about smashed skulls? That's how the Australian government says it can be done to a joey under 5kg.
There is no requirement for these scab shooters to report how many joeys they kill. Some estimates from October to February put the number around one third of the entire slaughter. In my area where there are 10,000 animals slaughtered per week, that means over 3,000 joeys are killed and not reported.
To enable my work to continue, paying for feed, fuel, equipment for night searches including heat seeking goggles, transport of animals to carers up to 500 km away I have started a #GoFundMe to raise funds.

Buruduh is called a #blueflyer and she is one of the #KangaroosOfMastodon. She is a red kangaroo - Macropus Rufous.
