Hot damn. Got my Displayport over USB-C issue solved, with some help from a couple users at https://matrix.to/#/#plasma:kde.org
Even filed a bug against the amdgpu driver, to hopefully avoid the next person running into this issue.
That means time for a reinstall, so I can get back to daily driving openSUSE Kalpa.
