To renew democracy, we will surely need territorial assemblies, workers’ councils, citizens’ conventions, citizen-initiated referendums, recallable and rotating delegates, a people’s bank, and democratic control over the surplus. This last point could allow us to initiate degrowth by reallocating surplus value — in both Marx’s and Bataille’s senses — towards festivals, solidarity, care, ecological repair and the protection of life. #democracy #politics #Rousseau #Marx #degrowth #Bataille #Kallis

Went to Kallis on Monday, a calm day, an overcast day, warmer in both air and water than it ‘looks’.
Painted it.
Realizing, I enjoy ‘not trying to make it look exactly like what I am painting, rather, inspired by, and letting it become what it becomes.’ I think that’s a liberating viewpoint for me, a playful and more lighthearted way of approaching this #dailydrawing-project of mine.
