When I performed #Cracker's "Been Around The World" at #openmic this week I started it in a voice and tempo I'd never even thought of before, and found myself locked in and liking it. I can't quite capture the energy I felt with that sound booming out into the room, but this isn't a bad approximation either. Added some #KalaUBass and guess what? One take on that. Having a good week with this song!

The holiday season can be especially rough for those in recovery or trying to be. I'm not sure how my singing Aimee Mann's "I Was Thinking I Could Clean Up For Christmas" could possibly help, but that's what I've done.

The version I knew was by John Martyn, on one of those great KCRW samplers, Morning Becomes Eclectic. But it turns out his version was a cover of a song by #portishead. He changed it, I changed it, here it is, just me and a somewhat fuzzed-out U-Bass: "Glory Box."
