    In this episode @jay & I go full Founder Mode. It turns out Garry Tan doesn't really know how taxes work. VCs keep misunderstanding innovation. LLMs are actually really good at something, and that something is *not* configuring the #JDK for custom #JIT compilation using #JVMCI. Also Gavin Newsom hates homeless people. #IanAndJaySpaceOut

    Moving from #Java 7 to 8 at #Twitter was a long and painful process (I blame #Monorepos) and we ended up backporting features like #JVMCI from Java 9 to Java 8 because it was easier than migrating the whole service graph to the newest release.

    Does switching to the bundled #Graal JIT compiler (via #JVMCI) avoid this issue? If so that is a possible mitigation for folks already stuck on macOS 14.4.
