Titelverdediger Anish Giri speelt zaterdag in de eerste ronde van het schaaktoernooi van Wijk aan Zee tegen de enige vrouw in het veld van de masters. De Nederlandse troef speelt met zwart tegen de Chinese wereldkampioene Ju Wenjun. Dat was het resultaat van de loting.

@chestas I haven't had a chance to really get a sense of the struggle, or delve into the games deeply yet. After a typically conservative title match start I was very impressed with Lei, who seemed extremely well prepared and supremely confident, while Ju appeared to be oddly the opposite.
