Evolution or revolution in transitions to sustainable, healthy food systems? The annual symposium of Future Food Utrecht brought together different viewpoints on work to improve our current system, or work to revamp the system entirely. Very proud of our session on roles of animals in food systems!

@lymphomation yes, that's my understanding. The "free market" serves to maximize profit . And failing to consider the points I raised has major negative equity implications, disproportionately harming low - moderate income urban & suburban residents and many rural residents precisely because they face barriers to transitions that the more well to do homeowners in urban settings do not face. We cannot deal with climate change and ignore adverse impacts on vulnerable communities. Simple matter of #ClimateJustice & #JustTransitions. I hear too many of my demographic failing to consider how things that work for us just might be a serious burden on others.

EFSA's summary of its forthcoming conclusions: Use of glyphosate in agriculture does not pose "critical areas of concern" for human, animal or environmental health.
This conclusion on glyphosate is against the science showing its persistence and toxicity and opposite of what is needed for #JustTransitions to #climate and #biodiversity-friendly agriculture.

The Somerville Climate Forward update provides an opportunity to do that, but so should the City's efforts to implement the Specialized Energy Code approved by the Council last month. In coal-dependent communities, there's been a lot of talk of #justtransitions, and it's becoming a bigger thing in developing countries looking to end fossil fuel subsidies, better regulating water supplies, etc. But we need it here too.

Outside of work I started into #TTRPG again after a long time away, am an hobbyist photographer, hiker and husband/dad with an amazing family that keeps me grounded.
