"Solidarity does not end when trial ends and a verdict is reached, when a hunger strike has gotten its demands met, or even when somebody is released from custody back into the arms of their family and friends. The consequences of state repression last long beyond big moments and media attention. Whenever one cycle of struggle winds down as the target of the state, another will take its place. Whenever one comrade is released from prison, another will be taken in. Our support must continue to ripple out beyond our friends and immediate networks. It must extend beyond the borders of states into all lands and territories where people are fighting. It must expand beyond the present moment, honoring comrades of the past and thinking of what legacy we will leave for those who come after us."

June 11th: What it Means-A Testimony by Michael Kimble
June 11th began as a Day of Solidarity with Marius Mason and later extended to all imprisoned anarchists held captive by the state. My experience with June 11th and solidarity has been revolutionary.
As one with no biological family alive, the letters, cards, banner drops, direct actions, fundraisers, expressing love, solidarity and care really has been instrumental in my mental state. It has inspired me to keep fighting, it has kept me aware that I’m not alone and part of a family that has each other’s back in real ways. The complicity shown is real solidarity.
For me June 11th has afforded me the opportunity to forge relationships and connections that can become stronger. I’ve been shown solidarity even when there was reluctance and kept in the dark for security reasons and particular forms of solidarity. Comrades must be careful not to replace their desires for the desires of the imprisoned comrades.
June the 11th has constantly made me aware that I’m part of a movement with teeth. June 11th really gives meaning to “Solidarity means Attack”. So, June 11th has been a positive thing for me. It has literally kept me alive when I’ve had thoughts of ending it all. I’ve forged some really strong relationships from June 11th.

June 11, 2025: The Landscape Tranforms
Spring is unfolding, and the time has again come to look towards June 11th, the International Day of Solidarity with Marius Mason and Long-term Anarchist prisoners. While our celebration of this day is to lend attention to Marius and other anarchist prisoners at risk of being forgotten because of their long sentences, we’re also continually thinking about how to emphasize how integral prisoners are, and an anti-prison struggle as a whole is, on our path towards freedom.
The site of prison has long held a rebellious and revolutionary potential. Prison is a place for rebels to encounter one another, learn together and organize among themselves. The historical legacy of revolt inside means that the prison of today is even better equipped to manage, isolate and repress rupture. Yet prison, like everything else, is not totalizing in its ability to control or stifle. Despite repression, despite the stultifying effects of things like drugs and institutional violence, prisoners continue to innovate and adapt and those of us on the outside can continue to do the same, in our relationships of solidarity and in our moves toward a world without prisons. This year, we’re struck by a vision of a seed germinated by fire. It waits for the heat and smoke to indicate when the environment is cleared and suitable, to take its chance at life. In a hyper-civilized world that has attempted to eliminate fire in its quest for domination, we must set fire to the old and call forth a birth of new life.
As the terror of this dominant order comes to new, or at least previously obscured heights, we are thinking about how to embolden new paths and relationships alongside terrain that has held potential and embodied revolt since its inception. Our paths will continue to demand experimentation, adaptability, ingenuity. May we be stoked by the dying off of old forces, and enlivened by our readiness for, and taking of, new ways of life!
There is a proud history of anarchists and other radicals meeting up in prison, and a history of them mentoring and teaching others. Black Liberation and adjacent struggles in the US created pockets of radicalization inside prisons, should they be captured, that lead to moments like the Attica Uprising in 1971. Transfers of the long-term recalcitrants lead to meetings of minds like when Sundiata Acoli, Joe Joe Bowen, Hanif Shabazz Bey, and Ray Luc Levasseur met in Marion, Illinois. Joe Joe, for one, continued teaching guerilla strategies long after. Long-term anarchist prisoners have been involved in hunger and work strikes in prisons the world over, notably including many of the Greek comrades, like Nikos Maziotis. The Chilean anarchist, subversive, and Mapuche prisoners collectively pen statements for many days of action, not least of all Mónica Caballero, staying connected to struggles beyond the walls. They also inspire defiance outside of prison, as we see in many actions claimed in solidarity with the comrades aforementioned, and of recent significance: Alredo Cospito’s 180-day hunger strike that, before ending last year, brought about so many incendiary actions. There have also been instances of elders and lifers taking responsibility for mass actions to try to shield others from additional time and consequences.
The state uses prisons to limit and contain rebellious individuals, revolutionary projects, and organizing on the outside. This can sometimes backfire, turning the prison into a hotbed of revolt and radicalization. To adapt to the revolutionary potential of prisoner organizing, modern prisons make use of several tools to control the movement of people, ideas, and skills in an attempt to quash potential revolt. These tools include surveillance – increasingly technological – of individuals, movement, and relationships, and stoking divisions among classes of prisoners, pitting them against each other. Direct physical violence and isolation are used even more liberally on the trouble-makers, advocates, and teachers. In addition to throwing some one in isolation, sometimes for decades, the system also transfers people away from their block, those they trust and organized with, or across the country from their family and supporters. The ongoing expansion of prison systems and facilities is necessary to be able to separate and distance us from each other. Whenever prisoners rise up, the state increases and adapts these measures, and innovates new ones, to prevent it from happening again. All of the barriers we currently face in staying connected and empowered are evidence of just how much the wardens and the managers have to be afraid of.
How, then, do we also adapt to the innovation of tools and techniques of control. First, we must seek to understand them. Often it is the long-term prisoners who can best observe, test, and articulate the behavior of the state, as they have seen it shift over time. This is just one of many reasons why we must actively facilitate their participation in anarchist spaces. So, for us, developing redundant and decentralized ways to stay in communication despite the surveillance and censorship is essential. This is required for us to build inside-outside organizing and collaborations between the imprisoned and the more-free. Correspondence also serves to remind captives that they are not forgotten and their captors that we are watching. Material support is also essential. Money for anarchist prisoners not only helps them get what they need from commissary, but can also flow to others who have less social support. Beyond commissary, funds can also be used in the prison economy to buy or create tools to maintain communication, or for protection from guard or fellow prisoner violence. We must also build the capacity to act in solidarity and in response to what we learn from inside comrades, whether that be in the form of prison demos, phone zaps, destructive acts, and other things few of us have yet dreamt of.
When an anarchist goes to prison, they can serve as a point of connection between people inside and out. Our commitment to and style of doing prisoner support enables this connection to bear fruit, not only for individuals but also, in the best cases, to challenge the power of the state where it is most concentrated. There are many forms this role of anarchist and politicized prisoner can take. They can use their position, voice, and ability to have it amplified, to speak to larger issues. This informs outside comrades on the struggles of captive people. In the U.S., this has best been seen in Black Liberation struggles and overlap between the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army activity on the outside, and the uprisings in jails and prisons across the country. More recently, we’ve seen Eric King advocating for friends he made inside who helped him during some of his hardest times. We’ve also seen several people locked up in Atlanta jails for involvement in Stop Cop City and in Pennsylvania for alleged involvement in animal liberation use their media connections to describe conditions inside and to tell the stories of people they met inside. Most people in prison do not have anyone who can proliferate their words, whether through a blog, a zine, or graffiti. Anarchist spaces can and do just that. Michael Kimble is a great example of acting as a conduit between outside support and a captive queer population doing mutual aid on their own terms. Though they are still very precarious and under attack, Marius Mason has been able to strongly influence the treatment of and access for trans people in the federal prison system. In 2020, Jeremy Hammond recorded a video of himself and other captives expressing solidarity with Black Lives Matter protests in the streets. Malik Muhammad writes a column on his blog telling the stories of and doing interviews with people he’s met in segregation. Through his connection to other anarchists, Michael Kimble shares radical Black history on his block during Black History Month and Black August. In these ways, anarchist prisoners tie inside struggle and radicalization to the larger movement outside.
The reverse is also true. By the nature of their position, anarchist prisoners strengthen the larger movement by informing its analysis, methods, and priorities. By their inclusion in the anarchist space, we demystify incarceration and teach each other best practices and survival techniques. This, in turn, empowers others to take necessary risks, knowing they are not alone. Our commitment to supporting our prisoners keeps us honest to our value of confronting state power even where it is most powerful. Maintaining relationships and facilitating the participation in movement space of people who are physically taken from us provides anarchists with a wing of struggle that is “behind enemy lies.” The power to incarcerate, to disappear, to silence, to steal comrades, family, and friends must be contested. And that contestation can only happen with other politicized and revolutionary prisoners. By meeting and struggling together in prison, it strengthens ties between criminalized people and the underclasses: an informal and irregular meeting of enemies of the state.
Our moves towards a life of freedom are undoubtedly shaped and strengthened by struggling alongside those captured by the state. The inventiveness and courage needed to maintain survival and one’s values inside can teach us a great deal about what spirit will need to be mustered as we forge ahead. May this June 11th be a day to reflect on those we love inside, those we grow and struggle with that are locked away, and to make further moves against this world full of prisons and the forces that maintain it.
Prisoner Updates:
Marius Mason is now less than 2 years away from release! Despite the progress he has made for himself and other transgender prisoners, and due to anti-trans policies of the U.S. federal government, in March he was transferred back to a women’s facility in Danbury, Connecticut. The state is also now requiring we deadname Marius in our correspondence. Michael Kimble was also recently transferred to another Alabama facility. He is still working on his resentencing and continues to participate in anarchist publishing. After going on hunger strike because of his property being taken and other harassment, Malik Muhammad was transferred to another facility in Oregon. At this facility, too, he has been targeted and thrown in seg, falsely accused of trying to organize a general strike. Sean Swain continues his collaboration with Final Straw radio. Comrade Z has also worked with Final Straw and written articles for Texas Observer Magazine. Xinachtli has a new fundraising campaign.
Internationally we celebrate that Claudio Lavazza was released from prison last year, after a lifetime in the anarchist struggle. We also note the continued fight of Alfredo Cospito, and now Francisco Solar (in Italy and Chile, respectively), against their particularly heinous conditions. Mónica Caballero continues to organize and speak out from inside the Chilean prisons, and we’ve recently seen some calls for financial support. New repression has also begun in Greece, after an untimely blast in Athens killed one comrade and injured another named Marianna. We stand with all those comrades charged after the explosion. Also, Nikos Maziotis’ request for conditional release has been rejected by the Greek courts since he pronounced the obvious truth that “revolutionaries are not ‘corrected’ nor ‘morally improved,’” so he is expected to serve his full sentence. Finally, we added two more anarchists to our list of long-term prisoners, as the Chilean state prepares to prosecute Aldo and Lucas Hernandez – each facing decades in prison, having been held in pretrial detention since December 2022. With each new and continued attempt by the states of the world to enforce obedience to their oppressive programs, we too recognize an urgent desire for their destruction.

Michael Kimble’s 2024 Statement:
Revolutionary Greetings Family
First, I’d like to give a brief rundown on my situation. Recently, I was able to hire an attorney to file a Rule 32 Petition seeking a sentence reduction. Thank you for all the generous contributions for my legal defense. I’m hoping that I’ll be out there with you all this year.
Things have escalated to a degree that Alabama prisons have been designated as the most dangerous prison system in the U.S. due to the high number of prisoner deaths from suicide, overdosing on drugs and homicides. At Donaldson prison where I’m being held captive there has been at least thirty prisoner deaths or more here since I arrived in 2021. And these slimy, greedy muthafuckas are committing atrocities in these prisons against human beings and low-intensity warfare via the drug epidemic, psychotropic and illicit drugs. Just a month ago it was reported on the local news that the warden of Limestone prison and his wife were both arrested for smuggling Fentanyl into the prison. In the same segment it was reported that the organs of deceased prisoners were missing from their bodies. If no other reasons other than the atrocities mentioned above, prisons should be abolished. Police do not stop crime, nor do prisons deter crime or I’m sure there would be less humans held captive by the state.
We, anarchist prisoners who are queer/trans are catching pure hell in Alabama prisons. We are being oppressed, repressed, and suppressed in many ways. We are arbitrarily being psychologically and physically abused and discriminated against by this system of oppression, pig administration and backward thinking prisoners. We do what we need to survive but staying true to our anarchist principles. And mostly without any help or support from the outside. When prison administrators see that we have support and solidarity from outside comrades, and movements, they back the fuck up in many ways.
We are abolitionists and “abolition is not impossible”. In the words of my comrade Sean Swain, “it may be inevitable. It may be happening all on its own right now and only needs us to help it occur a little faster. What can be done? Well, it isn’t brain science or rocket surgery. Imagine yourself the person in charge of these vast and sprawling complexes. Ask yourself, what would you NOT want to see happen? Then do that. Consider, all industrial complexes are dependent upon logistical networks or administrative offices and warehouses and suppliers and distributors to keep these complexes operating. None of these are behind impenetrable walls or fences; none of them are under armed guard by an army. All of them are vulnerable and fragile and flammable. Every location has parking lots. Every vehicle in every parking lot is vulnerable and fragile and flammable. Every vehicle has tires, and enters and exits the lots through choke-points that are, themselves, vulnerable. Perhaps with imagination we can develop low-risk and high-yield methods of making these complexes completely unmanageable, ushering in an era where they no longer exist. FROM THE STEEL CAGES OF THE FASCIST TEXAS PRISON SYSTEM, a crime against humanity, I submit my solidarity statement to INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH LONG-TERM ANARCHIST PRISONERS, as an honorous and principled annual event to support many of us, whether we consider ourselves “anarchists, revolutionary socialists, communists,” or by any other anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-fascist name, the critical point is to come to full circle, no matter our “theoretical differences” over questions such as organizing a vanguard revolutionary party to lead our struggles, on “democratic centralism”, on class struggle, and the ultimate withering away of a needed revolutionary state, to ensure that once dismantled, the ruling class does not reorganize to engage in counter revolution to regain their power, lessons learned from the original Paris Commune, and many other recorded historical events in history, since the creation of the first International Working Men’s Association, and the splits that emerged in the “anarchist movement”.
But “titles” do not a revolutionary make, nor a revolution make, for not only interpreting the world, but setting out to change it, under extreme repression by the forces of fascism fearful of what a truly free, and educated class can achieve, once it frees itself of the psychological chains of mental oppression, and re-learns its historical role as “gravediggers of the old capitalist class rule system,” in organizing to create a new society, and a new world minus the capitalist system of oppression, injustices and class relations, in freeing working class labor from the shackles of capitalist accumulation, to serve the rich and their caste system, called “free enterprise” by another name. It is our own “practice” of facing these realities that make us, understanding that, as Italian anarchist Errico Malatesta once said class struggle being the most powerful weapon in the working class movement against capitalism and imperialism.
Texas, has, again, become the head of the snake of the modern industrial state, as it did in colonial times, in its settler colonialism, white supremacy and slave trade catalyst and kingpin of Jim Crow Dixieland Fascism, with the rise of the new right-wing fascist movement led by the principal architects of the ultra-Right, white Christian evangelical and anti-critical race theory movement, as we see unfolding today before our very own eyes, such as the January 6th riot led by chief fascist Donald Trump, who inspires to regain control of the oval office and the White House in November 2024, despite being a “convicted felon”. Given these tumultuous times it becomes unprincipled and immature for us to divide the “leftist movement” over theoretical differences, when what is to be done, we all know, which means to organize our oppressed communities, create our own autonomous liberated zones, create our own solidarity economy to teach the poor, the oppressed, to produce our own food, and basic necessities, and create industries, all in the collective ownership of the working class for the working class itself, where all profits are owned by and are administered equally on behalf of the workers, and their families, who produce society’s wealth.
Our struggles are common, and we must see the urgency of our class struggles, not merely, year after year, organize these events, and exchange rhetoric and blow hot air, while conditions worsen for the poor, and the nuclear superpowers such as Russia, China and the United States exchange their nuclear saber rattlings of use of nuclear weapons to protect or conquer more territories as we see going on in Ukraine, Syria, Iran, Iraq and the boiling pot running hot in Taiwan, and in the occupied territories of Palestine, and Israeli zionism, and U.S. Imperialism committing monstrous war crimes, crimes against humanity, committing genocide against innocent civilians; men, women, children, that must be brought to justice in properly convened international human rights tribunals under Nuremberg and Tokyo principles of international laws and the laws of nations, to prosecute these war criminals and the manufacture of the weapons of mass destruction manufactured in the munitions plant in Amarillo, Texas and throughout the U.S. Military Industrial Complex facilities.
Our struggles are not only a matter of freeing working class labor from the chains of capital, but a matter of survival of planet earth as the oil tycoons of the fossil fuel industries release more carbon emissions, spurring climate change crisis around the world, only to satisfy their insatiable greed and lust for more wealth, money, the conquering of underdeveloped nations and domination and control of world markets and international finance capital. A World War III is inevitable between these power hungry psychopaths that rule over us, unless we organize and depose them of their illegally acquired political power, disarm them of their arsenal of weapons of mass destruction, AND BEGIN A REVOLUTION OF NEW VALUES, A NEW REVOLUTIONARY CULTURE, A NEW REVOLUTIONARY ETHOS OF COMMUNITY CARE, LOVE, UNITY, SOLIDARY AND INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM FROM CAPITALISM AND IMPERIALISM BEFORE THESE IMPERIALIST BARBARIANS DESTROY PLANET EARTH AND END THIS CIVILIZATION AS WE KNOW IT…

Abolish EVERYTHING

When I saw the parole board in August 2021, I had served 30 years in prison for what was provably an act of self defense, a noncrime. The lead fuckweasel on the parole board asked me about the circumstances of those events, and I shared with him my sincere remorse that the man who broke into my home had died, and had died as a result of the wounds I inflicted.
With a dismissive wave, that fuckweasel said, “We don’t really care about that. You’ve done enough time for that…,” and he began to bullet-point snippets from statements of mine that he said “concern” the parole board. Chief among those was my campaign slogan when I ran for governor in 2014.
In my gubernatorial campaign, I had said, “Turn your ballot into a bullet and blast it through the brainpan of the body politic.” So, in a very disingenuous reinvention of that slogan, the lead fuckweasel, with a straight face, said that the parole board understood that statement as a threat on the life of the governor, Mike DeWine. It was such a veiled threat, it seems, that no one interpreted the slogan that way except… well… the parole board.
Not to get too deep into the weeds on legal analysis here, but what I said in 2014 wasn’t a threat. The U.S. Supreme Court has long ago parsed out what constitutes threats from protected speech, what can be punished from what can’t, and while I fully understand that parole board fuckweasels never had a civics class because Ohio spends more money on prisons than on their sucky schools, you’ll never convince me that any one of those fascists thought that I wanted people to cram chunks of paper into pistols and try to fire them at Mike DeWine– as if the act of eliminating one fuckweasel would accomplish anything anyway. The absence of Mike DeWine would just be a job opening for Jon Husted, another fuckweasel of the highest order.
The point, of course, is that the parole board’s targeting of my political speech was illegal and they knew it… and they didn’t care.
The implicit message they sent was pretty clear: Shut up. While they intend for me to die in prison, not for any crime but because I have an ideology better than their tired and unimaginative drivel, they want me to do it silently, my chin tucked against my chest, my mouth closed, waiting out years or decades buried inside the super-duper-max until I
finally sputter out.They can fuck off. Twice on Sundays.
I’m running for president.

This just might be my year. The two doddering, incoherent windbags running against me can’t get more than 35% of their own supporters to feel enthusiastic about them. One, his greatest accomplishment is nappy time; the other promises to usher in a new Reich.
Really, both of those bozos are more dangerous to DUHmocracy than I am, and I’m *trying* to trash it.
My campaign was launched on Instagram, @mongoosedistro and now consolidated, @realswainiac1969.
I’m promising to abolish the United States and bring about total and complete decolonization. I’m enforcing strict immigration restrictions back to 1492, loading hundreds of millions of crazy white people with bibles and guns onto cruise ships, hoping they port someplace that will take them.
Canada, maybe? I don’t know.
I expect my term in office to take about ninety days and then we’ll dance naked around a bonfire where the White House used to be. But this isn’t the end of it. It’s just the beginning. Don’t forget that when the U.S. goes up in smoke over night, so does trillions of dollars in debts owed to other nations. So, those countries, relying on payment of U.S. debt — or, at least, payment on the interest on those loans — will also be radically destabilized.
We’re talking an end to the global system of crapital.
While my prior campaigns were strictly political theater, we’re now facing a very new reality where even the mindless zombies shambling to the polls would prefer to scrap the whole stinking system and take the consequences, rather than vote for either of the rich, old bastard sock-puppets with corporate parties’ hands shoved up their geriatric asses. Given what DUHmocracy offers, the general consensus is that we need a national dumpster fire.
I’ll bring the gas. You bring the matches.
I’ve got two strategies for getting elected. Neither of them involve actually getting voters to vote for me. Fuck votes? Who needs votes to get elected?
My first strategy is TRIAL BY COMBAT. I challenge Biden and Trump to get in the ring– a no holds barred; no pinfall; submission only; tables, ladders and chairs cage-match on live television, globally simulcast. Winner take all. To make this more fair, I’ll make this a four-on-one handicap match, with Trump and Biden AND their running mates against me, all alone. The last one standing wins the oval office.
There’s precedent for this. Some famous dead guy once pulled a sword out of a rock to win office. Another famous dead guy killed a giant with a stone from a slingshot. So, given this history, and given the questionability of the vote count, I’m invoking trial by combat.
This makes far more sense than voting. And it’s more entertaining. I’ll wake up Sleepy Joe just long enough to put him back to sleep. I’ll superplex that lumbering orange badger from the top turnbuckle. If his running mate is Marjorie Taylor Green, I’ll zap her with a Jewish space laser.
They’ll tap. I’ll win. Swivelization will end.
So, for this strategy, we need a social media campaign to shame the Hierarchs into getting in the ring, and then I’ll take it from there. I’ll soon be down to my ideal fighting weight.
My second strategy, if the Hierarch cowards won’t get in the ring, is to inspire support from the folks who really matter in any U.S. election: Russian trolls. We need Russian hackers, Boris and Natasha, to see that I’m their guy; that installing me will bring down the U.S. once and for all. They can work their magic on those Venezuelan voting machines and then I’ll work my own magic, dropping the government like a building demolition, right in its own footprint. If we can elevate my campaign’s social media profile, Boris and Natasha can simply alter the vote count and give me 99% of the vote.
Say goodbye to the United States government, to the crapitalist order, to the reign of nation states everywhere. By spring, if it all goes as planned, we’ll all be hunter gatherers, crushing grain on the shoulder of some forgotten superhighway, lighting tribal fires with dead constitutions, the planet having a moment to breathe and heal.
It’s appropriate, I think, that all of this begins from prison– the symbolic epicenter for silence, marginalization, and disempowerment, the Hierarchs’ greatest weapon for political, racial, and class intimidation and oppression. Appropriate, I think that from this prison we carry out the demolition of the larger cultural prison holding all of us captive.
Our collective liberation could be right around the corner. We just have to highjack one election.
