Julie Byrne's aching songs of melancholy are stripped down to their essence, with sparse arrangements, as she connects with her listeners directly, one on one.

There are a few musicians still on twitter that I follow who collaborated or produced with #EricLittman being the common thread. #Vagabon, #JulieByrne, #FoxesInFiction, et al.

Eric passed away but had a wry twitter presence. I was reminded recently and archived it, just in case. His account got deleted sometime last week. Still one of my favorite musicians, I play his work all the time: https://stevesobs.bandcamp.com. This Stereogum article shares more about his legacy: https://www.stereogum.com/2195179/steve-sobs-nylon-zeal

My December 2022 playlist includes relatively equal doses of new and old, including #florencedore, #robynhitchcock, #bannygrove, #randomcontrol, #ericlittmann, #devonwelsh, #tomberlin, #juliebyrne and and a bunch of other musicians who don't seem to be on Mastodon yet. This is a pretty good one.
