CW: USPol: tourist killed by ICE, I am confused
Something that is frustrating about learning that #JuanDuran, the guy who was killed by a truck while running from #ICE, was here legally on a tourist visa... Why was he here on vacation in the first place?? I understand the panic, because of what would likely have happened to him if the group of racists had caught him, but I feel like we have literally been stating, repeatedly, since Biden choked in 2024, that the #US would not be safe for anyone once #Trump took office, and that no one should come here if they can help it. We will likely have our shit back together in a couple years, but right now, shit is SCARY.
Is this like, something he couldn't postpone it for another year or so? What was he even thinking?
Listen, non-US people, we are going through some bad shit right now. It is not safe for CITIZENS right now, let alone tourists. I am saying this as a Floridian who worked for the tourism industry... DO NOT COME TO THE US RIGHT NOW.
