I just realized something funky is going on in #WSJTX for me
I'm only seeing decodes up to about 1300 Hz in WSJTX, but in #JTDX I can see up to 2700 Hz 🤔
I'm using the same sound interface and channels (left vs. right, etc.) and I don't know why WSJTX cuts off for me 😢
I guess I'm back to JTDX for now, lol

I was experiencing a weird issue where JTDX-Improved was reporting the sound card was unable to be sent to after each QSO...
End up finding out Gridtracker2 was creating a "ding" every time it logged a QSO, and when it did that Ubuntu got confused and the sound card was now in use by a different application
So, I turned off the ding in Gridtracker2 and now I can QSO as much as I want in JTDX as before, lol

I normally use #JTDX but when I saw there is 2.7.0 release of #WSJTX I decided to give it a try.
Looks like the .deb doesn't work on the latest Ubuntu (24.10) due to dependencies not exactly matching, BUT, after compiling it from source, I got it working 🙂
I've only made a couple of contacts on #FT8 so far on it, but, I forgot how much the UI is different from JTDX and WSJT-X lol

Having a little fun tonight seeing how far I can get out using 5W on #ft8 - it would appear that Japan has my number. QSOs for days! #hamradio #amateurradio #jtdx #wsjtx

By the way, is it just me or can I not control #JTDX from #GridTracker? Just seems weird.
Or am I just accidentally running stock JTDX instead of JTDX_improved or something idk

I wish there was an update to #JTDX this year, because "CQ VOTA" doesn't highlight like "CQ POTA" does as an available station to work
and the year is already mostly over lol

Ham radio help needed, because I did a new setup and I have no idea what setting I'm forgetting.
Using JTDX, I'm seeing band activity accross all bands, but only decoding where that little blue/grey box is on the waterfall... Currently set to between like 600-800 in the screenshot
I have no idea how to make that bigger, but I would like to decode the entire band.
I used to have it set that way, what did I do?

@m0puh yeah, it's nice. It is based on WSJT-X 2.5.9, so it is a little dated (it's been a year since the last update), but I like how well it pulls things out of the weeds

Does anyone use JTDX with FLRig? Having and issue with PTT. It seems to stop transmitting after a second or two. In the setup if I Test PTT, it turns on but after a second or two, the button goes back to it's normal state and the radio is still in TX mode. I have to click Test CAT to turn cat back off to get it to stop. WSJT-X all this works fine and the setup is mirrored in JTDX.

@danielgallagher @n6cta according to DXNews - https://dxnews.com/3y0j/ - they are operating in the odd slot for Fox and Hound and using #JTDX.
All those pile ups are probably full of people who don't know any better because things haven't been explained well or they are to lazy to find out. Either way, of you don't operate FH, your contact won't get logged.

How to use #ft8 (and similar emissions) on several different devices ("desktop" laptop, tablet) under windows and #linux, on two different programs (#wsjtx and #jtdx), but have one common log ? I copied two log files: wsjtx.log and wsjtx_log.adi to the folder I sync with my #nextcloud, and both programs have a symbolic link to the synced folder instead of these files. There is a nextcloud client installed on each system which automatically synchronises the files after each change.

For those that use JTDX for #FT8 the website to check for updates and new releases has been moved to:
-
For those who use #JTDX it looks like their website has been down for a few months.
Their new website is: https://sourceforge.net/projects/jtdx/
