"American Tune" is a song by the American singer-songwriter #PaulSimon. It was the third #single from his third studio album, #ThereGoesRhyminSimon (1973), released on #ColumbiaRecords. The song, a meditation on the American experience, is based on the melody of the hymn "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded" and bears a striking resemblance to #JSBach’s “Erkenne mich, mein Hüter“. I'm back at home. No more drawings of Dresden for now. I hope, you're not disappointed.
This is a drawing of the Schlosskirche in #Winnenden from May.
In early May, I sang with the Winnender Kantorei in the two performances of Bach's Mass in B minor at the Schlosskirche.
A magnificent work that I love very much.
Then, just for fun, I drew a still life of our well-worn piano scores, a pair of reading glaces and two pencils.

Just a Teresa Stitch-Randall (1927-2007) frame of mind. What a lovely lyric-coloratura soprano voice she had. I still have this stuff on Nonesuch LPs from the early 1960s. But I was lucky to find this imported Accord CD reissue. An American, born in Hartford CN, she eventually made her home Vienna, Austria, where her career was mostly based. Brava! -
