So I have a small pile of lithium-ion cells sitting beside me, freshly charged. From the count of cells, their rated capacity in amp-hours, and the nominal voltage of 3.7V, I calculate the stored energy as being close to 850,000 #joules.
One megajoule - only 17% larger - is described in Wikipedia as the amount of #kinetic #energy of a one-tonne mass moving at 161 km/h [1]. It's also traditionally described as approximating one 190g stick of #dynamite.
