According to Japanese folklore, the jorōgumo can appear as either a beauty or a beast. Upon reaching 400 years of age, these spiders grow to a gigantic size and gain the ability to shapeshift into beautiful women, which they use to lure lovestruck men into becoming their dinner.

*I am well aware that there are male sirens, onryo, and fairies, but I don't like those ones 😛
