Canada exists because of land stolen from First Nations, and horrifically tried to erase First Nations in cruel assimilation systems.
Canada before WW2 turned away boats of refugees. Famously the Komagata Maru. 1939s jewish refugee ship MS St. Louis was turned away at Halifax NS.

I agree with the Andersons 110%. I said this last year, that the program would bottom out if it kept being misused. It has strayed so far from what it was supposed to be, it's doing a major disservice to kids that really need the help.

Johnson is #Indigenous, from #Tsartlip Village, #Okanagan, Northern #Dene, #Han & Northern #Tutchone & Wolf Clan.
She has been on the #BCHousing #WaitList for nearly 5 years.

Past and continued treatment of her daughter Mercy through Jordan’s Principle is an indication that Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is failing to put the needs of First Nations children first, says Crystal Jacobs.
In May 2022, Jacobs began legal action in the Ontario Superior Court against ISC, which funds Jordan’s Principle. She is asking for $5.35 million for general and special damages.
