Three anniversaries, one night. So we thought… why not celebrate them all together?

Next Friday, October 23rd, we’re taking over Bar Theo for a very special night, celebrating IKI’s 1st anniversary alongside our good friends RLB (Red Light Bricks), who are turning 2!

And with ADE celebrating its 30th anniversary, the timing couldn’t be better.

For us, there was honestly nowhere else we wanted to celebrate our first birthday other than Bar Theo

We’re keeping the lineup a secret. Basically, just trust the crew, but expect some of our beloved crew members and close friends behind the decks.

Celebrating as well the Harap Alb: Reworks EP Release Party, with three of the producers on this record throwing tracks for us.

Workshop Mapping Solidarity for Palestine

Mapping Solidarity traces and makes visible the networks of solidarity with Palestine in Amsterdam.

Mapping is not only a way of representing solidarity, but a practice of solidarity itself, creating new possibilities for connection and resistance.

Through this participatory workshop, art and culture workers, activists, and participants can reflect on recent pro-Palestine actions, campaigns, and boycotts across cultural, educational, and public spaces.

The map facilitates conversations around key questions: What has worked? Where have we fallen short? How can we strengthen our networks, resist fragmentation, and build more coordinated strategies toward our shared aims? The map serves as an active tool for documenting struggles, making connections visible, identifying gaps, and imagining future action, bridging past, present, and future.

The workshop is accompanied by extracts from the publication Standing, Photographing, Sitting, Filming, Organising, Screenshotting, Resharing, in Solidarity, including a scene of the 2024 UvA barricade, enlarged by Alina Lupu.

Allicht is een Nederlandstalig synthpop-duo, opgericht omdat er te weinig Nederlandstalige synthpop wordt gemaakt. Muziek over het leven, want tot dusver zijn we onsterfelijk gebleken, nietwaar? Binnenkort te zien op een podium bij U in de buurt. Vanzelfsprekend, natuurlijk, vrijwel zeker, Allicht.

DJ Sjaak

De Amsterdamse DJ Sjaak (@bootlegsjaak) staat al ruim zeven jaar achter de draaitafel. Ze is een bekende in de Amsterdamse alternatieve muziekscene. Haar sets zijn altijd dansbaar en energiek, variërend van post/egg punk en darkwave tot de meest dansbare rock-‘n-roll en goth.

Oscar Jan Hoogland (Amsterdam, 1983) is the sound of Amsterdam in person. He is an instant composer and inventor of his own instrument by joining a clavichord, a keyboard instrument from the 17th century, to 220 Volt electricity. As the last student of the late pianist, composer and improvisor Misha Mengelberg he tears like a tornado through the Amsterdam jazz and impro scene.

Jannes Deurvorst (Amsterdam, 2004) is an improviser, activist, punk and jazz drummer. His history studies at the UvA didn’t stop him from playing a crazy many shows last year, ranging from outdoor dada manifestations to jazz gigs and fast and furious punk shows at Takland

Normaal Sounds: Across The Pond

Normaal Sounds is back at Bar Theo with special guest Dennis Free. Dennis is a Brooklyn-based dj, producer, and curator hailing from Oakland, who has become a mainstay of the NYC scene. he hones a sound that traverses the soulful ends of classic house, the deeper grooves of club music, and all the stops in-between.

Joining him is Normaal Sounds squadmember felixdejong, an Amsterdam resident who grew up across the pond, with an inclination to the trippier, groovier, and darker sides of electronic music.

Mijn route gaat vanaf de Brouwersgracht dwars door de beroemde wijk via de Willemstraat, de vroegere Goudsbloemgracht, de Elandsgracht en langs de Westertoren.
