  6. We need to strengthen European defense capabilities to address the complex security challenges we face today. While political debates focus on qualified majority voting, it's essential to prioritize the acquisition of necessary military capabilities. Unfortunately, many European countries, including EU member states, rely heavily on imports for their military equipment and ammunition. It's time to move from words to action and establish a framework for joint defense procurement that will replace the current inefficient system. By showing unity and solidarity like we did during the COVID-19 pandemic, we can increase efficiency, rationalize spending, and support basic research that benefits both the military and civilian sectors. This will not only reduce costs but also strengthen the competitiveness of European manufacturers. We must support quality work in the EU and not outsource our defense needs elsewhere. #EUDefense #JointProcurement #StrengtheningEurope #InvestInEU

    Here are four concrete proposals:

    1. Establish a joint framework for defense procurement to replace current inefficient systems.
    2. Increase transparency and support basic research that benefits both military and civilian sectors.
    3. Reduce costs and strengthen the competitiveness of European manufacturers.
    4. Support quality work in the EU and not outsource defense needs elsewhere.
