Guests include Ry Cooder (doing harmony vocals on “Have a Little Faith in Me” as well as electric guitar and sitar work), Nick Lowe on bass, and Jim Keltner on drums, making this something of a proto-Little Village album. Also includes “Thing Called Love” that was later a hit for Bonnie Raitt.

Various Artists, All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman, 2014 on Rounder
A tribute concert to Gregg Allman with a star-studded set of guests, recorded January 10th, 2014 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, and put out on Blu-Ray, DVD, and CD by Rounder.
Allman faced significant health issues in the 2010s, including hepatitis c, liver cancer, and a lung transplant – it’s great they were able to film this concert with Allman participating before he died in 2017.
Some great tributes here from some of the expected folks (Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, The Allman Brothers Band) as well as some I did not expect: Dr. John, Keb’ Mo’, Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, John Hiatt, Eric Church.
My copy is the 4xLP vinyl edition Rounder put out in 2022, which I got directly from the Rounder Store. It’s a well packaged box set with a booklet of photos and credits.

Bill Frisell, Have a Little Faith, 1993 on Elektra Nonesuch
Frisell on guitar, joined by Don Byron (clarinet, bass clarinet), Guy Klucevskek (accordion), Kermit Driscoll (bass), and Joey Baron (drums). Covers a wide variety of sounds here including some Aaron Copeland from his ballet Billy the Kid, two excepts from Charles Ive’s orchestral Three Places in New England, plus Dylan, Muddy Waters, Sonny Rollins, and John Hiatt.
I love the B and C sides – for me the orchestral side is my least favorite but the title track (a John Hiatt song) and the Sonny Rollins track are great.
My copy is the Vinyl Me Please Classics vinyl issue (the first on vinyl) from 2024, which is a 3-sided vinyl (one side is an etching) and includes lacquer cut by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound.
