  4. I love #travelling in the #UK, and one of the joys of travelling is that between the walking, I also hit the #charity shops in the towns I stay in or pass through, most often for #books.

On my recent daft walking in #NorthWales, I picked up a couple of novels I had never seen before: "Hame" by Annalena McAfee and "Skara" by Andrew Appleby, plus four others, all old sci-fi from my younger days I'm enjoying rereading.

The sci-fi will head back into circulation at some point, but "Hame" may well be one of the keepers as not only does it have superb cover #artwork courtesy of #JoeMcLaren, but also the #writing is complex and demands attention, is evocative, and is making me want to head north and revisit my #ancestry in the islands upon which it's set.

"Skara" may be another of the same. I have never seen either of these books locally, and if I hadn't looked as I travelled, I might never have encountered them, to my loss.
