Some impressions from our booth at #jmm2024 in San Francisco. It was great to see so many mathematicians coming by and speaking to Apostolos Damialis (Editorial Director) about our books programme and #subscribe2open. #openaccess #s2o @EuroMathSoc

Is there anything really interesting at #JMM2024 that would be fun to read about/watch?

Excited to be to be at the #JMM2024 exhibiting my art "One to One Hundred". See http://drmathart.com/Artwork/N0001-0100/
for more details. I also have a few art items for sale. #mathart -
For those of you who want to see video from someone walking through the Art Gallery at #JMM2024, Erin Carmody (@therenegade) has posted a group of clips on twitter here: https://x.com/uncountableart/status/1743400169679585307?s=20

If you happen to be at the Joint Math Meetings this year, enjoy a stroll through the Art Gallery.
My piece made it there okay…and might look a bit familiar😁.

Another notable question from a textbook publishing panel at the #JMM2024 - how do you read (a textbook, a paper, other informational materials)?
A major part of academia is learning how to read. This is very personal! But it also says things about how you write.

At #JMM2024, at a panel on textbooks in the future, it was casually noted that there hasn't been much (almost any?) research on best practices in research textbook authoring.
And for that matter, there is only some in undergraduate book authoring.

I'm giving a short advertisement for my work on #NeuralNets at #JMM2024 in about 15 minutes! I applied a bit late and ended up in one of the contributed paper sessions. These are already a bit more subdued, but this one is particularly poorly attended. Perhaps it's for the best, since the videos on my YouTube channel (link in bio) are much more detailed than what I'm about to say.

This year's Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Francisco is going to be pretty chill for me. This is my fourth #JMM and my third in person. Last year I organized a session on #AppliedCategoryTheory, but this time around I'm just giving a couple talks on #MachineLearning and the history of the #Bourbaki group.
