This is about the #JMichaelBailey paper about "rapid onset gender dysphoria" where he studied people who didn't consent to be in a research paper.
If you don't know who Bailey is there's a good #Contrapoints video …

CW: Regarding a Masthead Social member — CW transphobia, Blanchard's typology
Interested to note that masthead.social is hosting Alice Dreger — alicedreger [at] masthead [dot] social.
Dreger is a prominent anti-trans activist who supports Ray Blanchard's thoroughly discredited, transphobic, and transmisogynistic "transsexualism typology," which sorts trans women into two categories:
1. "homosexual transsexual" (attracted to men, higher status), conceptualised as self-hating gay men;
2. "autogynephile" (attracted to women, lower status), conceptualised as straight men with an extreme kink.As part of that support, she's also notable for having defended J. Michael Bailey's 2003 screed THE MAN WHO WOULD BE QUEEN, which is a frothingly passionate insistence upon Blanchard's typology masked as objective scientific inquiry.
It's definitely the same Dreger — she lists herself as author of GALILEO'S MIDDLE FINGER, a 2015 book where she continued to defend THE MAN WHO WOULD BE QUEEN as "the truth about people's identities" and "accepting ... and helping [trans] people".
This seems pretty obviously inconsistent with the values stated on masthead.social's about page (https://masthead.social/about), namely:
1) that it "do[es] not tolerate harassment ... in any form," "includ[ing] offensive verbal comments related to gender [or] gender identity and expression";
2) that "discrimination based on gender" is prohibited;
3) that it has "no Nazis," given the open and unashamed affiliation between the mass anti-trans movement (to which Dreger gives oxygen) and the mass fascist movement.Interested to know if @mdent123a will be allowing Dreger to continue to use Masthead as a platform.
