In the first ever episode of Red Dwarf, Captain Hollister has to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of Flight Coordinator George MacIntyre: “We're all gathered here today to pay our last respects to George MacIntyre. George was an excellent officer and as good of a friend as anyone could ever hope to have. And he'll be missed more deeply and more completely than he could ever know. And now I commend his ashes to the stars he loves so much.”

Sad news for the geek community in general but specifically for Dwarfers. Just days after announcing that a new Red Dwarf novel will be published in July, the co-author of that book and the co-creator of Red Dwarf has passed away.

@richardstartin Perhaps it’s just me but I find #flamegraphs less useful as the profile grows in size and dominating effects weaken. Then it’s back to #JMC tabular data (usually itable stubs!) which I combine with a little #LogCompilation parser to get the JIT’s view on what’s happening.
