1996's Vampirella was an attempt by Roger Corman and Jim Wynorski to bring the underground comics super sultry super space fox to the screen. It... didn't work.

OMG, I love this trailer. And with #JimWynorski directing & #RogerCorman producing too! Would love to see this in #Monsterdon

Jim Wynorski's The Lost Empire was the subject of one of the most popular reviews ever posted at B-Movie Enema. For years, people wanted to come to the site to read about a movie starring big-breasted baddies. I see you, my Enemaniacs. I see you.

Deathstalker II takes a turn from barbarian fantasy action fun to comedy touching upon parody. While nowhere near as good as the original (at least in my opinion), there are fun things in this sequel.

The 90s comic book movies are a real mixed bag, man. Maybe the mixiest of mixed bags (and by that I mean it is awful) is the Jim Wynorski-directed Vampirella from 1996.

Jim Wynorski's The Lost Empire is a classic of 80s big-breasted exploitation action-adventure films that don't make a great deal of sense but I guess it's still nice to look at.

Transylvania Twist was a movie I caught on cable in the early 90s and just loved how cheesy it was and how hot Teri Copley is in it. I'm glad I still remembered it so I could do something with it 25 years later on the blog.

Rangers (2000)

Rangers (2000) stitches together a direct-to-video thriller with quality action sequences from the bigger, better movies. The results are craptacular!

Jim Wynorski's Vampirella (1996) isn't that great but it's not that bad. It's not sexy enough and it's not fun enough but it's moderately enjoyable. Vampirella deserved a better movie than this.

Not of This Earth (1988), a remake from Roger Corman's New World Pictures of his own 1957 sci-fi vampire film, this time with Jim Wynorski directing. Traci Lords stars and she's fine.

There's some horror, some cheesy special effects and plenty of humour.

It's all great fun - fast-moving, slick, action-packed and sleazy.

Today is January 17, 2023 so, theoretically, Jim Wynorski has begun shooting KILLBOTS (2023) for Charles Band and probably Full Moon Features. Which is probably a spiritual successor to Wynorski's CHOPPING MALL (1986). Cast may include Rocky DeMarco, Sydney Thackray, Becky LeBeau, Rib Hillis, Dare Taylor, Lauren Parkinson and others.

Deathstalker II (1987), one of the many sword & sorcery epics churned out by Roger Corman in the 80s. This one is more deliberately cheesy and hammy than most but it’s good-natured fun.

Silly and goofy but fast-moving, exciting and amusing. If you’re in the mood for a real beer and popcorn movie this is just the thing.
