Pepper joined here by Paul Chambers (bass), Jimmy Cobb (drums), Wynton Kelly (piano) and Conte Candoli (trumpet, on three tracks). That makes this another LP with Miles Davis' rhythm section, as the earlier Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section was. Meeting of some greats here - Montgomery (guitar), joined by the Wynton Kelly Trio (Kelly (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), and Jimmy Cobb (drums)), along with Johnny Griffin (tenor).
Recorded live in 1962 at Tsubo in Berkeley, California—a hot set (supposedly the crowd had to endure some repeats to get a good take, but they've certainly retained their enthusiasm).
