#SesameStreet posted a short video on Friday to celebrate #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth. Because it was X, it was met with a barrage of vile and shocking #antisemitism.

Antisemitism is unacceptable in any setting.

For my entire lifetime, right wing activists have promoted the idea that Jews = Israel, despite the fact that many, many Jews do not support Israel’s colonialism.

Israel is problematic. But Israel is not global Judaism anymore than Rome is Christianity. The two cannot, Must Not, be conflated.

The history of Judaism is fascinating. A holy book unchanged by thousands of years, faithfully recreated by each generation...that’s an astonishing feat in human history. A faith deeply vested in literacy and education that has given humanity some of the greatest thinkers in all of history.

Judaism is not an enemy. Hate is.
