I absolutely don't need another car, but I bought one anyway. I know they're common in other parts of the world, but in the US, when a 2013 VW Jetta SportWagen TDI 6-sp manual falls into your lap, you don't pass it up if you're an automotive masochist like me. This one comes with records and seems never to have gone more than 10k miles without needing thousands of $ in repairs. It currently has a seized turbo (which itself is only a year old). #vw #jetta #vwgolf #tdi #weirdcarmastodon

Finished up the head gasket job on a 2015 #Jetta, flushed the coolant and oil.. got er down off the jacks... and what do you know. She runs! No codes!
Ended up about $500 in parts and fluids overall.
Some rust related aches, some wonky tool paths (thanks, VW), minor fretting with timing the engine - but in the end, these #SOHC engines are pretty simple, fun little learning experience, and beat the (heavy) snowfalls.
