New album from violinist and composer Jessica Moss out today, and it's beautiful. I love everything this artist does.

Hell yeah, new Jessica Moss album coming in October. One track now up, "until all are free" (following tracks called "no one", "no where", "no one is free").
"Unfolding was made slowly, over the last 12 months, the 2nd full year of genocide in Palestine, in direct response to our collective witnessing, our collective grief, as a portal to collective mourning, as a searchlight through our internal weather systems, seeking one another out in the dark." 🍉

If you want to escape to a grainy Scotland for a couple of minutes, my favourite designer, Audrey Cantwell (of Montreal-based Ovate) has made a lovely short Super8 film, with a soundtrack by Jessica Moss.

Philip Koch — „Outside the Box“ (2017)
(ARTE, WH)

The solo work of violinist Jessica Moss (outside of Montreal's post-rock circles, see Godspeed You! Black Emperor) reveals an artist whose avant-garde heart placed between post-classical and modern, with a touch of ambient and drone.

Our #SongoftheDay is a solo violin piece by Montreal based artist Jessica Moss. It's an emotionally raw, howling elegy that's also a beautiful piece of recording that puts you right in the same room with her.

Sometimes you take a cd from one of the piles next to you with stuff you never heard before and it perfectly fits the mood you're in and it takes you deeper into that feeling and becomes sort of a cleansing and gets you back on your feet again..........well this is that kind of a record......What I call a small miracle.

One of my favorite musicians and humans, violinist #JessicaMoss (of #SilverMtZion, #OiseauxTempete, etc.), has put up a 42-minute live performance as a name-your-price, with all proceeds going to UNRWA. Check it out for #BandcampFriday, along with her other solo work (I highly recommend her 2021 album, Phosphenes).
