  1. First time single-figure finish for San Marino in *ANY* Eurovision contest. Someone get Martina Crv a residency at San Marino Outlet immediately #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  2. Barbara Pravi must be livid and Tom Loeb might need to more out of the Eiffel Tower again. #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  3. CW: Junior Eurovision result

Good fun, adequate technicals from GPB, and absolutely no complaints about the winner.

Anyone know what Paris is like at this time of year?

  4. right, my tea is almost ready so my next post might be me happy/sad/bemused/intrigued
BTW just sniggered at the realisation that Spain, Ireland or Netherlands winning this might be rather funny #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  5. Also had time for
the staging of "Miau miau" (Íctimai)

there's something Taylor Swift about "Beyond the stars" (SMRTV)

"Rockstar" was standing on the cube (RAI GULP)

back to first-era innocent JESC with "Fruta perime" (RTSH)

We'll get a good winner, whoever takes the trophy in the next hour.

  6. Between today and yesterday - me and the boy - have voted for Azerbaijan, Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, Ireland, France and Albania #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  7. #JuniorEurovision faves part two:

"Para onde vai o amor?" (TVP) Saudade in a cave, except the cave blows away in misery. Brilliant storytelling.

"Erase una vez" (TVE) The closing number from a musical about the joy of reading.

"Ce monde" (FT) France Télévisions gonna France Télévision; could only be more French with Cat Noir on backing vocals.

  8. ALBANIA - this was the 10yo's fave song in the reviews (plus he does love his fruit and veg) Some interesting overlays on screen. This wasn't the staging I was envisaging but it is kinda memorable. Let's say I prefer the dancers outfits than Kroni's. #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  9. FRANCE - the second of the "Voila" tributes. Another use of the sepia into full colour. The camera work really sells this song to the viewers at home, and maybe less of a show in the hall. Just needed a shot of the Eiffel Tower to cement the Frenchness #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  10. CYPRUS - I was concerned about this song in the reviews as it came across as a bit basic. But this is quite a glow up. The duo move extremely well on stage and they also sing very well plus the backing track sounds massively better. Love the starry sky! #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  11. GEORGIA - she looks like a 1970s Pocahontas. The stage looks cohesive with the white outfits, smoke and the celestial background and even some co-ordinated fireworks The vocal is strong although is a little bit shouty and relentless for my taste. #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  12. SPAIN - I loved the video and am so very very pleased to see the book motif brought to the stage here - and the piano! Loved the way the book circle has the title of the song at the bottom! Good use of the video floor. He sounded fab - loved this!! #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  13. PORTUGAL - I liked how this differed from the video and gave the song a totally different meaning. Could easily be in FdC. The curtain and lights made the stage more like a cocoon. Her voice is so strong she held everyone captive. I have something in my eye (again) #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  14. ITALY - severe change of pace as there has been nothing quite like this yet! He actually cops really well with the speed of the song and the sharp turns between styles. The big box is an intriguing prop but nothing much happens to it. #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  15. MONTENEGRO - I like the way this had taken the feeling of the video and elaborated on them so the meaning is really clear. Really does sound like a Balkan Ballad from the adult show. Live version is powerful. Possibly the best use of a background up to now. #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  16. N MACEDONIA - nice ethereal look for this one. Loved the fact that she could actually do all the runs in the verses and more. The light show in the background was dynamic and fitted in with the song and her look. Nice use of the wind machine too #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  17. POLAND - it is really quite striking how such a big voice comes from such a small body. She is like a mini-Bjork! Enjoyed the Mermaid motif which was easily notice but didn't detract from the song or the tricks of the dress. Enjoyed this one! #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  18. NETHERLANDS - this really wasn't one of my faves in the reviews but the Dutch show is always so slick and professional. Impressed that she sang so much without pausing AND participated in the dance break. I just wish there were more 'proper' lyrics in Dutch #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  19. IRELAND - looks and sounds like something to send to the contest proper (if they ever decide to come back) Lottie's voice sounds much better live and there is real strength and vibrato to her tone. She also looks very classy! Shame the mountain isn't Croagh Patrick. #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  20. Georgia - the country where every boy looks like Lance Stroll
    #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  21. UKRAINE - this is the other earworm the boy and I have had ever since doing the reviews. I am so very glad the delegation has kept the NF performance although the giant balls of wool now have lights in them this time! Absolute banger! #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  22. ARMENIA - similar kind of set up to the video with the sepia/colour. The song is a little fragmented and takes a few listens to 'get' however it is dramatic, atmospheric and the language sounds lovely. First of two songs that sound like 'Voila' tonight #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  23. SAN MARINO - a welcome change of pace and genre. Her styling is clever with the the name of the guitar and the country symbols on the back wall. Her voice is very clear and she covers the ground well. Would have been nice to have dancers doing line dancing perhaps #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  24. CROATIA - I really felt for him at the start but he really powered into the chorus. Was a little concerned that he'd look lost all by himself, and although it might seem scarce in the hall, down the lens he comes across well with a fragile quality to the performance #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  25. AZERBAIJAN - ok I absolutely love this and have been singing it for weeks. I wish they had used more of the mosaic effect from the video and it was all a little less dark on stage. I love the choreo and the language sounds really nice #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  26. MALTA - both me and they did not like the video for this so actually seeing her sing it live makes a real difference. It does feel like something left over from The Greatest Showman or an unused x-Factor winners single. It's not for me but nice #JESC2025 #JuniorEurovision

  27. #JuniorEurovision ist dieses jahr ganz schön enttäuschend. Alles klingt gleich, gleich langweilig, gleich schnulzig.
