Really sorry to hear of the death of legendary producer #JeremyThomas.

I was lucky to interview him once at Edinburgh Film Festival when he told me his secret of producing was to 'tread softly but carry a big stick'.

His work getting the first Western film to be shot in China – Bertolucci's The Last Emperor is quite remarkable. He made films with many giants of indie film: Roeg, Cronenberg, Wheatley, Jarmusch, Glazer and Terry Gilliam. Hanway Films were also prolific.
