Garden pics! Strolled around a bit to check on my flowers before the rain comes in.
1) Roses look great (but messy because needs deadheading).
2) Mystery plant continues to be mysterious.
3) Flowering plant from last year came back and is about to bloom (but I can’t remember what it’s called).
4) One of a few unexpected somethings growing in a container…perhaps sunflowers from last year’s left over seeds? We’ll see! -

We have a seedling! 🌱 I brought my seed trays inside last night to protect them from the surprise blizzard, and spotted this little guy. 🥰 There are also a few smaller siblings beginning to push through, but they’re harder to see.
My next adventure will be to figure out how the heck to transfer them into my actual garden beds when they’re bigger and it is safe to do so, weatherly-speaking. 🤔

Talk about a late bloomer! This little guy has been trying to grow all season (having survived being eaten down to the soil earlier this year by some critter, probably a shark). It struggled mightily to regrow, but I didn’t expect it to bloom! I don’t remember what I planted here, but my plant ID’er says it is Indian Blanket (which does not sound familiar to me?). Regardless, I love him and have named him Carl.

Some flowers from my garden for your viewing pleasure (one more pic in the comments)
(btw I thought the flowers in the 3rd picture were from a bee balm plant, but it’s an actually Rocky Mountain Bee Plant! Maybe that is still the same thing, I have no idea.)
(Edit: On 2nd thought, I really have no idea if it’s bee balm or bee plant. Whatever it is, I love it.)

My daylilies are finally blooming!!! I’m so excited…last year there was only one solitary bud that emerged and bloomed, but this year there are lots of buds! Can’t wait to see them all start opening up. 😍

Some photos from my #garden this morning. My goals for my little #wildflower garden (first picture) didn’t pan out this year, but I have a few plucky survivors defying the odds and I’m grateful for them! (Not pictured in the wildflower garden are several flowering blue flax plants, and one unidentified something that was growing strong, then presumably got eaten by a rabbit, and is doing its best to regenerate)

My lilacs! I love the colors…they start out dark purple, then open up to pale purple blossoms.

Gardening bummer:
Welp, this year’s #gardening journey seems to be a bust. I have 7 tiny seedlings in my #garden bed, despite spreading an abundance of seeds last Fall. Maybe I underwatered or strong winds blew the seeds and/or soil away over the winter. Six out of the 7 emerged last month, and I thought for sure that’d be all. Then one more randomly popped up this past weekend, so who knows what’s going on with it. 🤷🏻♀️ I will try again next year!
