Do y'all do #MusicWomenWednesday here on the Wafrns? I feel like it's mostly a Mastodon thing, not even Bluesky, but I really don't need an excuse to talk about my favorite lady musicians…

1) Jennifer Rannells - "Distance"
I discovered & fell in love with this album (released in 2002) as a young teen back when you could still discover music on CDBaby by searching for "influences" and "sounds like" and such (the same feature I miss from MySpace!) and it's really one of my most enduring best-loved albums. I just adore the flowing, intricate piano and her lyrics are insidiously evocative and her voice is enchanting.
