In case you missed it from last week. Rie Takahashi made her VTuber debut as JELEE from Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night. The stream was very scuffed as expected of a debut.
It's uncertain what'll happen to the account, but she did say 来年頑張っていくぞ, and stuff that does imply that the account may stream irregularly, possibly next year.

There's something about episode 11s for me recently, hitting me in the feels and relatability. First Kiui's episode 11 in Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, now Komari's episode 11 in Makeine.
I said earlier during the season that I was surprised I was liking Yanami more than Komari. Yeah, that's outdated news now. Sorry Yanami, you've been demoted to second best character in Makeine.
I gotta mentally prepare for something similar this Fall season of anime, in case the back-to-back "trilogy" decides to complete itself :leafeongiggle:

i guess it makes sense given the whole dynamic of Jellyfish and Girls Band Cry this season that after Jellyfish's somewhat mid finale, GBC was like "don't worry Jellyfish, we got you, we'll make a WAY worse final episode".

the ending to #JellyfishCantSwimInTheNight felt like somebody playing a visual novel and started down the yuri path then accidentally switched to the idol path right at the end and ended up with not enough points to get any ending and just got a default ending >_>

after the kind of padded out episode 12 of Girls Band Cry and the rushed finish of Jellyfish Can't Swim In The Night, i have like a headcanon that some TV executive gave the wrong yuri band anime the 13 episodes they asked for xD and GBC was like "wait what, we didn't ask for 13" and they're like "you're the alt idol band anime with lesbians right" and they're like "yeah but we didn't ask for 13" and they're like "yeah you did cuz you said you were using 1 episode for the trans char" and they're like "what trans char oh you want the OTHER lesbian band anime!" and the exec's like "whatever, i have to catch my flight to burning man, have fun with your 13 episodes bai"

Although Girls Band Cry still has one more episode to go, Jellyfish has ended and I think I can safely say that as a package, Girls Band Cry > Jellyfish, however Jellyfish has Kiui and episode 11.
Rating Jellyfish will be difficult for me. Because on one hand you have Kiui and episode 11 and on the other hand you have a weaker second half (with the exception of episode 11). What I consider to be the highs of this show are really high, as you might guess by simply taking a look at my profile picture, but there's more of the show than simply 1 character and 1 episode.

CW: Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night, episode 1
I watched this because I’m quite enjoying the artist/musician team-up in the Jump #manga #BeatAndMotion, but it’s quite different. B&M is fairly technical, about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into different art forms, whereas Jellyfish Can’t Swim is all passion and energy.
I’ll have to wait and see where this goes in terms of plot (the first episode is entirely about establishing the background) and music (the first song was fine; better than #caroleandtuesday, anyway).
I’m loving the palette, the fashion, and especially the camera angles. I just want to look at this one.
