Aug 11/12, 1944: On this date Jedburgh team Aubrey parachuted into the Seine-et-Marne region east of Paris to assist the SPIRITUALIST network. The team consisted of 2 Brits, Captain Godfrey Marchant (code name Rutland) & Sgt Ivor Hooker Thaler), & 1 Frenchman, Lt J Telmon (Kildare). The mission was to assist and coordinate with FFI groups in Seine-et-Marne area and undertake continuous attacks on rail, road, and communications targets.

L'abbaye de Jedburgh a de beaux restes aussi. En plus, il y avait une chasse aux Legos pour les enfants (la deuxième du séjour - la première c'était au musée de l'armée au château de Stirling). Résultat, on a pu les voir faire deux ou trois fois le tour de l'abbaye alors qu'au départ, ils traînaient des pieds 😬

Mary, Queen of Scots’ House in Jedburgh is a fascinating museum dedicated to the life and legacy of Mary, Queen of Scots. It is located in the Scottish Borders town of Jedburgh and is one of the most iconic sites associated with her life. Mary, Queen of Scots, stayed in the house in October 1566 after visiting the Earl of Bothwell, who had been injured while defending Hermitage Castle.
The journey to Hermitage and back was arduous, covering over 40 miles on horseback in a single day. Shortly after her return to Jedburgh, she became gravely ill, possibly with a fever or pneumonia. Her recovery was slow, and this episode marked a significant turning point in her reign.
