#Lebanon / HRW: Deadly Israeli strike on journalists appears deliberate

According to Human Rights Watch's investigation, the October 25, 2024 Israeli airstrike that killed three journalists and injured four others in Hasbaya, Lebanon constitutes an apparent war crime due to several key factors: the journalists were civilians protected under international humanitarian law, they were staying at a known media location with clearly marked press vehicles, the area was under apparent Israeli drone surveillance, there was no evidence of military activity or forces in the immediate vicinity at the time, and the Israeli military likely knew or should have known journalists were present given their three-week stay and routine reporting activities.

[…] The attack took place in the early morning at the Hasbaya Village Club Resort in Hasbaya, a town in southern Lebanon, where more than a dozen journalists had been staying for over three weeks. Human Rights Watch found no evidence of fighting, military forces, or military activity in the immediate area at the time of the attack. Information Human Rights Watch reviewed indicates that the Israeli military knew or should have known that journalists were staying in the area and in the targeted building. After initially stating that its forces struck a building where “terrorists were operating,” the Israeli military said hours later that “the incident is under review.”

#HRW's investigation determined that the attack was carried out using a US-manufactured #JDAM guidance system, which allows for precise targeting within meters, suggesting the strike on the journalists' location was deliberate rather than accidental.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

#Poland alone will have enough #JDAM, #Himars and K239 #Chunmoo to wipe Koenigsberg military installations from the map completely (twice over) and that is assuming the unlikely scenario that this part of #Russia won’t declare itself neutral and demilitarized before the war even begins.

US Air Force is buying add-on seekers designed to give JDAM-ER glide bombs supplied to Ukraine the ability to zero in on GPS jammers. This would turn one of the weapons most impacted by this countermeasure into one used to directly attack it.

Thats 2000 destroyed russian sites each day, every day.

Just to put things into perspective, considering a few #JDAM strikes a day in #ukraine give russia massive headaches.
