  1. These tracks are listed in a new “RNA-seq long reads (Gonzalez et al., 2023)” sub-section of the “Transcript Level Features” section in JBrowse.

  2. I’m at #TAGC24 and browsing posters when I saw this one. Without looking at the authors, I thought to myself “who reimplemented #JBrowse to be vertical?” Silly me: the #MGI folks just took a wide screenshot and rotated it 😂

  4. How flipping happy does it make me to hear about two students looking to learn about bioinformatics picked up @gmod tools (#tripal, #jbrowse) and put together a full blown genome database Bharat bharatgenomedatabase.org/

  6. Walked into my first talk at #PAG31 a little late and the slide up on the screen was a #JBrowse screenshot from #MaizeGDB

  8. #JBrowse2 has been a long time coming - seven years in development, ten if you count the first rumblings from Rob Buels. The payoff is an amazingly versatile, fast, and beautiful suite of programs for visualizing general genome annotations, relationships between genomes, and genomic evidence: rdcu.be/c98wf

  10. Me, listening to an interview with Jessica Kissinger (@[email protected]) (veupathdb.org/) on the "Talking Biotech" podcast (podcastaddict.com/episode/1487).

Interviewer (Kevin Folta): "So is there a genome browser for all these parasitic genomes?"

Me, to myself and the rest of Starbucks: "yeah there is!"

Dr. Kissinger: answers intelligently (but doesn't mention #JBrowse, but I can get over that).

  11. Carolyn Caron is now talking about the #tripal #jbrowse extension

  12. @isugif I'll be there! Good idea for a meetup. Also, I'll be running a workshop on Sunday; stop by and say hi! plan.core-apps.com/pag_2023/ev

(Side note, looking up this url made me realize I never asked the admin to fix a few things like the capitalization of #JBrowse) #PAG30 (why not #PAGXXX?))

  14. @lpryszcz Thanks for saying so! #JBrowse 2 has so much more functionality than a traditional "linear" genome browser. Structural variant visualization, synteny/comparative genome visualization, and some pretty useful plugins (and more in development). See jbrowse.org/jb2/demos/ for demos.

  15. @lpryszcz Glad we could point out embedded IGV to you. ;-) #jbrowse
