Went to Blu Jazz in Kampong Gelam for the last time yesterday. Jazz Inc SG held a “tea party”, and the gang held a farewell jam for me.

I like to think that Sinclair was inspired by my departure in assembling the set list, for he opted for a “tour of south-east Asia”, singing a swing version of Gelang Si Paku Gelang (I’m staying at the same hotel in Geylang as where I was staying when I arrived in SG for the first time) and a swing version of Rasa Sayang (I’ll be travelling though south-east Asia for the next couple of weeks). Maybe he also remembered that I was the only one of his students to show up when he and Rudy did a local folk songs inspired jazz gig?

He also sang Wham! (Re-bop boom bam), the song to which we danced during the Jazz Inc performance I participated in, back in October.

I am so grateful for the Lindy Hop / Jazz community I found here in SG. I will miss them a lot and hope to see them again all over the world, at Lindy Exchanges 😊

I'm back in Singapore, and went to the Centrepoint mall yesterday for an Xmas-themed jazz party by Jazz Inc SG.

It was so much fun to be back with this crowd again!

After some performances, the floor was open for social dancing, and even though I was super rusty after all of my travels, I had an absolute blast!
